  1. ....um....what's the point of following the initial poster's instructions if you are just going to buy the upgrade? If you did that, you wouldn't need to do the password bypass, correct? I must be missing something...

  3. So does anyone have a link to the CSND-210FM (US)?
  4. ...pretty sure this is the link for the 2.00300 version from Pioneer's website: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/GPS-Navigation/AVIC-Z120BT?tab=firmware
  5. Hi will this upgrade method work if I've already done the upgrade? My Z is acting weird and I wanted to try to reinstall the software to see if that would fix it as thanks Dave
  6. HG- I have tried to get the update applied again to my Z110BT without success. I have the two SD cards that I bought from Amazon along with the password code. When I put the SD1 into the Z110BT and restart it, nothing happens. Do you know of a way to force an update? My guess is that the update checks to see if the unit has already been updated, and if it has, it does not apply it again. Thanks.
  7. Hi I have already installed the map updates using the two SD cards I ordered from Pioneer. Im trying to apply the map update again in an attempt to fix a glitchy unit. When I put SD1 into the unit nothing happens. Is there a method to force an update? Thanks
  8. HG- So it sounds like you are suggesting that I use the upgrade CF flash disk that I bought to upgrade the unit, and try the upgrade process again? I never thought of that....perhaps I will give that a try. Thanks for the tip. I didn't think that the flash disk was for the OS on the unit as well as the maps....Thanks.
  9. Sorry for the misleading title. I guess that it's possible that the unit just decided to give up the ghost. I thought it was interesting that the CSR asked me if I had applied the e-brake mod (his words, not mine), so I figured that he/Pioneer know about the bypass. I will look to see if I can change the title of my message. Thanks for the replies. I was looking to see if other members had any similar experience. I have had the unit installed for over two years now....I figured that it would have lasted a little longer than that, but maybe not. ...found out that I can't change the titl
  10. Well...first off, a little history. I purchased a new Z110BT back in July of 2009. I followed the instructions on the e-brake mod found on this website, and didn't have any issues. The unit worked fine after that....NAV, DVD, iPod, radio, etc. No issues. A few weeks ago, I noticed that the NAV system appeared to get "lost". The arrow would not track on a road correctly, and sometimes, it would not move at all. I also noticed that the unit would freeze sometimes when it would display the detailed turn screen (for a right or left turn, for example), and the only way to get it working again was t
  11. Update: Speed pulse still at 0 after a reset to factory settings performed. Learning status is simple hybrid. I checked the wiring for the VSS, and as near as I can tell, it appears okay. I also checked the connections to the HU, and they look okay as well. I'm guessing that something is wrong with the HU internally. Now, I need to decide if I want to pull the unit and see about sending it in for service, or bite the bullet and purchase a new one.
  12. RonS- Thanks for the info on the VSS. I know that it did work, because when I reset it the other day, I saw the pulse count start to increase, and the signal bars started to change. The HU is mounted within the 30 deg / 5 deg parameters. I bought the HU in July of 2009, and it has worked flawlessly up until about a month ago when it started to have problems. I will try to drive around to see if the speed pulse value changes. It is currently at 0. I will also see what it says regarding learning status. If I remember correctly, it currently says simple hybrid. Thanks for the troubles
  13. RonS- I pulled the unit yesterday in an attempt to locate the loose connection on the VSS wire. No dice. I checked where I'm taping into the vehicle harness, as well as the connections to the unit itself. Everything looks okay. I put everything back together, and reset all of the sensors. No speed pulse indication, but the mapping seems to be working a little better. I did notice that when driving to a destination, the unit would lock up when it displayed the close up instructions for a turn at a corner. The nav pointer would appear on the screen, then begin to rotate around...kind of crazy. I
  14. RonS- Thanks for the reply. I installed the unit over a year ago, and it is just now starting to act up. I checked, and I have more than two sats locked (it got as high as 11). Signal strength was good. I noticed that the VSS pulse count was working for a few minutes as I started to drive, then it stopped. I'm going to start looking at a loose wire. Hopefully, that will be the cause. Thanks again.
  15. Hi- Recently, my Z110BT (upgraded to the Z120BT) has been having trouble with showing my current location. Sometimes, it gets the position on the road correct, sometimes it appears lost. I also noticed that in the connection status screen, the unit no longer shows any speed pulses from the VSS. Any thoughts on troubleshooting advice? Thanks.
  16. Ah...I see. Like I mentioned, I thought that I remembered on the Z3 that you could touch an icon directly. This method will work, it will just take a little getting used to. Thanks for the replies.
  17. Okay, I tried that. POIs visible on map. When I touch the icon on the map, nothing happens. If I scroll the icon on the map so that it is in the center (under the red circle), then I can press the shortcut button, and I get the destination flag. For some reason, the POIs on the map don't do anything when I select them. Is there another setting that I'm missing? My Z110BT is using ver 1.0 if that helps at all. Thanks.
  18. If I remember correctly, on the Z1, Z2, and Z3 AVIC models, you could touch a POI's icon on the map, and you would have the option to make this your destination. I can't seem to get the same functionality out of the Z110BT. Am I mistaken, or is this feature missing? Thanks
  19. I just finished installing the AVIC-Z110BT in my truck. I used the PAC SWI-PS to retain the use of the steering wheel buttons. So far, they have worked flawlessly. I have vol +, vol -, track +, track -, and source. I might re-program the source button so that I can answer calls on the blue tooth.....hmmmm....
  20. Here are some pics. Vehicle is a 2009 Toyota 4Runner with the Urban Runner trim pacakge. Pic of the trim ring from a 2009 Toyota 4Runner with the Urban Runner trim package. Pic of the part number on the inside of the trim ring: PZ365-3570. I did a few searches, but nothing comes up. I guess a call to the dealer might be in order if you are looking for the trim ring. Pic of the AVIC Z110BT installed with the trim ring. I tried both the metra kit, as well as the scosche kit, and the original trim ring fits the best....go figure. Another pic of the AVIC Z110BT install
