OOPS!! I'm sorry man - I thought I'd searched properly for this mod!! I'm off for a few days - so I'll try and do some more searching about this. SOMEBODY, SOMEWHERE has to have done this.

I know that we can't upload our contacts from the iPhone via bluetooth...but has anyone ever tried to hack into the bluetooth address? The BT address is what the D3 uses to connect - so if we could change the address on a another phone (Motorola, Blackberry, Palm, etc) to match that of our iPhone....shouldn't we be able to upload contacts from the other phone, turn the old phone off and go on our merry way? It sounds like it would work - but I don't have a CLUE on how to go about doing this.....any ideas?

Hey - thanks for the reply. I had set the password prior to a "friend" doing the bypass (which didn't work, btw) - and when he had everything the dash and everything back together - the touchscreen wouldn't work at all. I tried touching the 3 spots as when I'd set up the password - but that didn't work either. So - I reset the unit. LONG STORY SHORT - I went to a local audio shop today and they looked at it - found that a couple of wires were loose - so he fixed it....AND fixed the bypass while he was there. Hey - I was having issues with some of the navigation functions - so I took some of the great advice and reset my D3. Now - the touchscreen isn't working - and I set up a security question. Any ideas on how I can get this to work - or bypass the security question (yes - I know my answer)? Please - please help! Thanks!

How much further south? If I can't get the bypass to work AFTER they fix the installation issues - I might just have to make a trip for some help.

Thanks Tundra - I was wondering about this, too - and was going to be a guinea pig and try it out. Now I'm DEFINITELY getting one now that I know it works.

Well - everything is installed.....somewhat. Going to have to go back to the shop and have them relocate the Sirius Ant....he didn't thread the wire through the car...but on the outside and that's WAYYYY too ghetto for me. Also - he didn't use the RCA module, so even if I'd already wired the bypass - it wouldn't work. I dropped the car off at 11, and was driving away in it around 1:30; and the place closed at 2. The owner is a great man, has a great reputation and knows his stuff - but his installation tech leaves a lot to be desired. It seems like I spent the rest of the day figuring

I'm not really nervous or excited (ok....yeah I am, but not really); I'm just anxious about the bypass because they won't work on anything that's not fresh out of the box due to liability issues. Just hoping that he'll let me do it while he's working since they won't do it themselves. Wish me luck - although it looks easy enough - a caveman could do it!!!
