  1. I too saw this thread. Good Information up to the point where it is suggested you should just run an UNFUSED Ground to all the RCA cables. The system has to have some outlet should there be and overload in the preamp circuit. If you use the unfused ground method you are endangering the entire preamp circuit. I would never do this WIthout adding circuit protection into the ground. Unless you want to send it back to Pioneer after you cook the main board
  2. Hello All, After 3 months, my Z2 is going in for Warranty repair . Yesterday, I started experiencing a loud whine from my speakers that would rise and fall with the engine speed. It would also increase with the speed of the air conditioning fan. I checked the grounds for the head unit and the amps; all <1 ohm back to the battery. 3. A picture is worth a thousand words. Go here: http://www.sminntech.com/z1flash.html#newbypass And Here: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... =step+step (Credit the previous posters for their great input) Removing the cell phone mute wire, placing it in the correct postition of connector 2, and GROUNDING IT should do it. You may have to do the software upgrade and reset the unit as well. Keith
  4. Why would anyone want to watch a Movie while driving? Maybe you should worry more about watching the road. Seriously, you could injure or kill someone Flame away.... Keith
  5. No problems to my knowledge. I was curious if the software update is an absolute in ALL cases. Maybe the newer Z2's with the latest firmware do not require it. (?) Thank you for your input. Keith
  6. Hello all, I have performed the two wire bypass and confirmed ground. I inserted the ISO disk and hit map. It read the disk and returned the following message: "inserted update disk is already updated". Has anyone ever recived this message? I searched the forum and could not find it. I installed my unit about a month ago and it would not accept the latest firmware update. Already installed... It appears everything works as expected without the Software Update. GPS /Phone. I did not try to play a DVD while driving. Keith
