  1. I used the stock radio harness from honda, which has the connector to plug it in the radio and lose ends on the other side. So the one that is in the car I hooked it up to the aftermarket harness that you hook up to the avic's harness. Now the one I bought from honda I hook it up to the stock radio unit with the correct combination of wires (this part I messed up because the unit started smoking) which I would get from avic harness or aftermarket harness. I don't know if I explained it right but you get the idea.
  2. No changer, but the cd/radio/a.c unit wich is all in one. I want it to work but it wont have the speakers or radio antena hooked up. I just want it to light up at night so I dont have a black space in my dash. But I don't know if its possible though.
  3. No I don't. But I would really want to have the radio buttons and a/c controls to light up at night. Since Honda has both in one. I bought a factory harness and tried to feed power to the unit but it wasn't working, so finally I connected red with red and yellow with yellow and smoke came out and that was the end of my experiment. But if you know how I can make that to work, I can get another factory radio off ebay or something. thanks.
  4. thanks for your help guys. Here is my install.
  5. Another question. How can I know for sure or test that the vss is connected before I put everything back together?
  6. Oh I see. Now will it affect a lot if I don't connect the reverse wire. I've tried looking for it with no success.
  7. Well, I got another unit and went ahead and tried it right away to see if everthing is hooked up right. When I hit the vehicles info, it only shows the clock and it says the other two to the right are unavailable. Does that mean that my vss cable is not hooked up right? I used the connector that comes with the unit that clips on both wires.
  8. I don't know about the fix on ebay, but you can send it to pioneer and get it fixed within 4 days.
  9. Well, after I installed everything I still get the" please insert the appropiate disk". I called pioneer and they told me that the only explanation is the disk or the unit is defected. The disk is brand new just out of the case in perfect conditions, so is the unit?????. I bought the unit from ebay from one of this power sellers. I sent him an e-mail already. Do you guys think is the unit??? Also the cd player works fine, it just won't read navi disk. thanks.
  10. Thanks for your help. I will keep working on it tomorrow and post the progress. Thanks again.
  11. I've seen that info but...Do I slash the blue/white wire and add the vss wire? Also how do I know for sure the pin number. And yes, I am putting the disk in the second slot. I don't get the green + driver kick, harness to rear. Thank you.
  12. I'm stalling my avic-d2 and I grounded the parking brake and also grounded the open pin of the harness. But when I insert the disk, it comes up saying "please insert appropiate disk'". The disks are version 1.0. I also tried both disks and nothing. Also I would appreciate some info on Accord 04 vss location and installation. Please help!!! thanks.
