  1. 3.0 Cost???

    Dont even answer this!
  2. D3 for teenage son, have some ?s

As a teen myself, i perviously owned a d3 and it was an ok unit. First off, the navigation system was by far the worst thing Ive ever experienced. For example, when you are searching for a POI you can not sort by distance, there is no Text-To-Speech, and the avic has the dumbest routing logic and it will take you far and beyond just to get you some place close. Also having to deal with the nav disk bothered me. On the other hand, the avic was flawless in every other department. The on screen ipod function is much safer than using the ipod simply because it is bigger on the touch screen display. The videos will not work with the 6 gens (useless you roll back the firmware) or touches, this didnt bother me to much because I dont watch while driving. Otherwise everything works well on the unit! HOWEVER, I know this is a AVIC forum and probably get some bad feedback, I recommend the Kenwood units... from my experience they are so much better than the avic units. The nav is 1000x better, you can add POI, you can play videos from ipod (all gens) and their tech support 1000x better and they send out updates in a reasonable amount of time.
  3. AVIC F90BT vs Kenwood DNX9140

Correct me if I'm wrong but this unit has MSN direct? If so, how is this feature?
  4. AVIC F90BT vs Kenwood DNX9140

    I know... its a horrible wait!! J/k
  5. AVIC F90BT vs Kenwood DNX9140

Just break up the videos into different parts.
  6. I was about to buy an Avic F, but...

look guys! people have different preferences, what you like might not be what he like. in this case if this guy does not want to get the unit because of that lacking feature its his choice, its not wrong, nor is it stupid.
  7. the f 500 on steroids

Do you guys think they went a little to far?!
  8. What's up everyone? Roll Tide!

Hey and welcome to the forum. If you like modding software then the F-series is for you, even though its buggy, if you customize it to fit your needs im sure some of that will fade away. i was also considering the 8120 but it was out of my price range because im a student too (Go UAB Blazers!!)!! ...and one more thing
  9. Head Unit for 350z

yes, everybody is different. i suggest that you go to BB or a local shop and play around with them. coming from a D3 im 110% more happier with my DNX5120 and for the bypass you just ground the green parking brake!
  10. Head Unit for 350z

try these people on ebay. they are really good with fast shipping: http://cgi.ebay.com/KENWOOD-DNX5120-INDASH-2DIN-VIDEO-W-NAVIGATION-NEW-08_W0QQitemZ280312828519QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Video_Navigation?hash=item280312828519&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A4%7C65%3A15%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1307 ...and with that price you could get the bluetooth kit. ive seen that for about 80 on amazon.
  11. Circuit City Sale

  12. disapointed in the f90bt....:(

i recommend the dnx9140, this unit is just plain SICK!: http://forums.evolutionm.net/evox-sale-electronics-lighting-audio/393208-new-pre-order-kenwood-dnx9140-coupon.html
  13. DNX 9140 vs 7140 vs 8120

Just wait about a year and the price will probably be have that!
  14. Kenwood 2009 Nav Units

Well I can understand the ordering part, that's just to much to keep up with at a show. But I think their release dates are accurate because their other new models are out plus the new firmware update is to.
  15. New Kenwood DNX9140

you know when i was deciding on the dnx5120 i said the same thing about the UI but when i seen it in person it was a world of a difference. the maps are kind of kiddy to me but they are pretty detailed and the navigation is perfect.
