  1. I'm not sure of this exactly. But I believe this happens when the software is not fully upgraded. Is the Upgrade DVD that you bought a DVD+R? I think that is the problem. Hopefully if yours was a + also then I can go ahead and try my DVD-R disc. I've been wary of doing so. But the way sdram works is everything is probably hardcoded addressed in the software to access specific parts of the sdram and if all those parts aren't there then it doesn't know what to do. So it defaults to the "I don't have a program" screen. That is just my guess. I answered your PM please respond back here on
  2. nope couldn't fix it. had to sent it to a pioneer service center
  3. Nah it'll still work. I'm sure you have a friend with windows XP. Use their computer to search for Serial Numbers. Believe it or not the serial number algorithm actually IS on your computer. I'm not sure where it looks because of course it is a microsoft program so you know they know where to look. But what it does is run up to 99 attemps to find however many valid keys it can. It typically only gets about 2-5 keys out of 99 tries. But the good thing is these are valid keys that most the time will work even with the Windows Genuine stupid thing. Btw the program I'm talking about is cal
  4. There is also a program that will search your computer for valid windows Keys. It works for most microsoft programs. If I was at home (not work) right now i would look it up. Actually I have the program on my computer at home. So if I remember when I get home I'll try to post the software. PM me if you are still interested and it'll help me remember. the program is actually written by microsoft and is provided to be a "Key recovery tool"
  5. hmm interesting. When I try to write the GPS memory. My (old)disk shows available version 4.something and when i hit the button to load it it fails and remains as NG. I've tried erasing all the memory. The only one that will not erase is the SDRAM....which i think if i coulderase that one it would allow a full install again...but i dunno. The person who sold me the discs is express shipping new ones. Also the person who sold me the system said i could send it back for a replacement. So I think I"ll wait for the discs and if they don't work replace the unit. It is possible that something is
  6. Well I think the problem is that the disc i used to upgrade I don't think is a good disc. It was purchased off ebay and is a copy. Well after the upgrade on that it came up and said "insert appropriate disc" it hasn't worked since. No disc I put in works. I tried to go back and still nothing. I do not know what is wrong with it. Everything was working perfectly before the upgrade attempt. There has to be a way to wipe everything out and start from factory load. Cuz when you buy one brand new you have to do an initial load. Yes it does sound like something more serious. I'm thinking t
  7. LOL I did ALL of that including the format all drives. This is getting very frustrating. Is there any way reset to factory formating? so that when i start it up i can just load the old software on it? Cuz right now I don't even have AV screens ups.

So now it wont take the new disc or my old disc. and When I try to downgrade through the service menu, i get all thew way through the process and STILL can't use my system AT ALL. Please help! my $1200 system is useless now have AVIC-D1 btw It was working great before i upgraded!
  10. I sent you a PM cable guy. For the rest of you here is my problem I bought the set of upgrade discs from ebay. I inserted one of the discs (east) and it went through an upgrade process. only 1/1 things upgraded. Then as soon as it finished it said "Eject disc and reinsert the apprpriate disc" My system has not worked ever since. I have the instructions for downgrading and I went through that process and I still have the same problem. Although, I do not trust the instructions since they were sent by the person who sent me the discs. I'm not sure if the discs are bad or if I
