Use a toggle switch. I ended up returning the others and buying a nice chrome plated switch and it works perfect.

Weird, I have a brand new in the package IPOD cable from Pioneer.

Same thing happened with my new 4000DVD. I put about 20 vids I converted from youttube...they worked. Then I added about 50 more and only one(the first) video plays...to play anything else I need to use the iPod control itself, not through the touchscreen. If I try doing it that way, it blanks out the song, artist ...etc. and says "stopped" DId you solve your problem? I've kinda given up, but if I can reformat(3rd or 4th time on my 5th gen 30gb) and it works, then I am good to go. But I doubt it. I also have about 20gb used on mine though.

Any update on this? I am looking to get more out of the unit and want to use my Ipod for music videos and an external drive for MP3s...would be nice to get a large HD as opposed to an expensive flash drive with only 32gb. Ipod is only 30gb...bought a few weeks before they sold the 80gb for same price as 30gb

The switch doesn't click. Would a cheap toggle type of on/off swtich work? I'm going to try to just ground the wires(I've read so much online for diff ways) and if that works, I don't need the switch...but if not...would a toggle or a switch that actually clicks work? I am looking at a unit missing these. Is that for the VSS and backup camera only? I know some say you need VSS for navi to work properly. Are these pieces readily available?
