  1. I just got a 2008 A3 and was looking at installing this unit. I have a few questions for you: What's the model of your original car radio? Did you get your steering controls working? If so, what part did you buy? Did you have to get an active antenna adaptor? Where did you get your face plate? Did you resuse your stock speakers? Did you have to bypass any bose modules to get output to your speakers? Did you have to add any special data modules to deal with CAN? Did you have Audi remove the alarm code for the radio?

  3. We don't get the MAX983HD in the US. At least, there is nothing posted on our Clarion US site. Maybe in the near future we'll see it on the store shelves. I read the specs and saw the pics on the UK site, and it looks like a good unit.
  4. I have used Windows Pocket PC devices and Windows Mobile 5.0 and 6.0 for a few years. I just dumped my HTC WM6.0 phone for other reasons, but I was surprised to see what Pioneer has done with the O/S on these units. If these units were not setup for hybernation then the system was doomed to fail from the design phase. I don't think Pioneer would intentionally taken that step during the design. Just to give you an idea, my HTC phone took about 30 seconds to hard boot and it included modules/software for the Phone, Contacts, Mail, Tasks, Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, Windows Media among other things.
