I'd say go for the D3. I personally have the Z1. There are a couple things I like about the D3 - You are able to change lighting colors - has divx support - plays dvd movies (no known hack yet for driving) - has 2007 maps - as many accessories as the Z1 (bluetooth,etc.) - DVD MP3 Capability Z1 -has bigger screen -has 2006 Maps (requires 250 dollar upgrade available in a couple months) -has hard drive so able to have a vacant dvd-rom - can store 10GB wav files (not mp3) - has text to speech (says street name as opposed to turn right) - horrible mapping technology (uses a for

the unit cant be malfunctioning in any way because it is acting like it is supposed too i.e. locking you out of the dvd function after you hit 15mph+. The only logical explanation is that you are doing the hack wrong.

supplies will probably be short for the first couple weeks the Z2 is released. So they probably will sell for MSRP, even at unathorized places.Wait 1 or 2 months and prices are sure to drop significantly at UNATHORIZED places only.

i got my Z1 for 1500 when the MSRP for the Z1 unit was 2250. If you dont buy if from an authorized dealer, you get it at wholesale price. The thing is that you dont get the 1 year pioneer warranty. Is 750 dollars really worth a worthless 1 year warranty that makes you ship it to their factory at your cost?

hold out for a Z2. The unit is new, and you get the 250 dollar software update for free! Thats 1750 right there for your refurb Z1. Wouldnt you rather have a brand new unit for a little less than 2k?

You probably want to ask them what type of warranties they offer. Also, dont buy into the fact that they say pioneer gives you a 1 year warranty. This is not true!!!! Especially if you buy it from ebay. In addition, if possible, find out what kind of defects the unit has. which i doubt he will be able to tell you.

my broke friend bought a refurb D2 from ebay. It still works after 3 months. It is still a risk with refurbs though. I have never had any luck with refurbs. They work fine for a couple months then die.

Make sure your random crap that you added didnt have any sound file (mp3s). AOL probably would have sound of their stupid sound effects on there. (Youve got mail). Put the random stuff in a separate directory. What did you call your picture directory? Please make sure it is case sensitive.

Did you put at least 100 MB of stuff on there? Also make sure there is no S at the end of the directory.

have you tried driving around for 1 min or so. Mine adjusts to the correct location after 1min. Try driving on a major road too.

ive seen the inside of the A4. I dont know if you want to do it in there. Some of the reasons are this: -you have bose speakers - you have an in dash cd changer - all the nice digital displays near your tach wont work anymore
