Who is the manufacturer of your sub woofer and what is the model number? In most cases I wouldn't power an 8-10" sub with more than 250 watts of power(RMS). What I would do is google the sub woofer model number for the specs and then buy an amp that has a rating of 25-50 more watts RMS than the woofer can handle. Just make sure you don't turn the bass all the way up and you won't blow/fry anything. You should never run your amp at max RMS power consistently regardless of the fact that it's rated for that. Try to keep it down by about 10% by adjusting the bass level.

Spent 3 hours experimenting.... I got sick of it. My friend asked if I had a supercharger or something. I told him, "No, I just have bad grounds". Hahaha.
-
So I can't figure out the problem... I'll live with it. I kind of like the "supercharger" whine anyhow.
-
Bare metal at chassis. I sanded down the paint around the grounding area. I believe it is only the driver's side front speaker that is whining if my ears are leading me correctly. I will swap the speaker wiring with one of the other speakers to see if this is the problem. I do not believe it is the amps for some reason.... I just have a gut feeling it's not the amps.

Install was done by Circuit City the first time. I ripped it apart because I wasn't happy with it. It whined when they installed it, and continues to do so after my reinstall. Power and signal are ran on opposite sides of the vehicle and I grounded my amps to the chassis.

That is one mean looking car. I would GTFO of its way.

Nah... My girl usually turns the music up louder. Haha.

^ Will experiment with these suggestions. Thank you. I really don't mind the whine, I'm just wondering if it will cause any problems or damage.

Alright. Well first things first, here is my set up. AVIC-F700BT 2 pairs of Polk Audio 4" door speakers 2 Kicker CVR 12" ZX400.1 for the subs ZX350.4 for the door speakers

I'm positive it's not the fan but rather a alternator/engine whine as I can only hear it while the engine is running and the pitch changes with the RPM. I would just like to know if this will cause any damage so I can get it fixed ASAP.
-
No, I'm not here to complain about the whining noise... I can actually tolerate it with the volume up a little bit..... I'm just here wondering if I choose to keep and tolerate the whine, will any damage be done in the long run? If anybody can shed some light on this, please do. Thank you.

Well today I got an iPod adapter installed for an AVIC-F700BT, but I can't seem to adjust the volume. Any ideas?
-
Alrighty then. Thank you for your help and quick response. Do you know of any stores that would sell that cable.... I really don't want to drive an hour and a half just to get to an Apple store.

Hi, I'm new to the forums and I just bought my F700BT yesterday and had it installed, but there is just one problem..... Everything works fine, and then I tried to connect my iPod to the supplied usb connector using the wire my iPod came with.... No audio, nothing. Then I connected my phone(Nokia N95 8GB) and it worked fine. Audio, video.... Everything worked fine. I'm very confused. Is there some special adapter I need to get the iPod to function properly? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
