Tried the sound testing on F500BT european with sept firmware Launched testmode then soundtesting program Touched Sound button 1 = beep from the unit (but not on the car's stereo) Touched Sound button 2 = error message "sound card cannot be opened" Touched Sound button 3 = error message "sound card cannot be opened" Device name = WindowsCE Device description = WindowsCE device Hope it helps !

Kudos for an awesome job Leetcoder ! Feedback from a european F500BT user (with latest firmware sept 2008): ran tomtom: works perfect except no sound. Gps fix seems quicker than with the AVIC software then ran AVIC software then launched music on sd card ... works perfectly. back to tomtom with down button ... still no tomtom sound. SD card music still working perfectly. back camera working perfectly I have not yet tried if the bluetooth connection to my phone works, but the blue light is on which seems to indicate it works If you launch AVIC software first and then tomtom, the

For those interested Pioneer did post a new firmware on sept 17 for the EUROPEAN F500BT (new firmware version 1.002000) Link: http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/content/suppo ... 700BT.html Though the link indicate F900BT and F700BT, you will also find F500BT (european) as well. 211 Mb. Be careful it says that the update is ONLY for european version of the F500BT. But it did not fix the sometimes very long GPS acquisition of signal. Though as I live in an urban canyon it may be the reason. Hope it helps ...
