I wouldn't think they would lock it out. I went to a seminar training a few months ago and they said they were well aware of the users on here customizing them and said they were going to implement this (user customization) or like it in a sense into their future av units.

So first off this is just what I heard from a friend who called Pioneer regarding the new update so if any is wrong don't get mad cause its not for sure just what was said according to him. So he as well as myself both have a AVIC-F900BT and he said he called Pioneer the other day and they said that they have been working on the update extensively and hope to release it mid/late october and that it will fix most of the current problems we have been experiencing as well as "cutting the boot time almost in half", just what I heard so have hope and not sure if its 100% true just thought you all w
