  1. Ditto for me. Pioneer DRM=fail. Great experience we get for paying to legally acquire software. Especially considering how buggy it has been.
  2. The HD tuner is pretty lame. You can't see the frequency of your presets. At least where I live, it was constantly switching between HD and non-HD. I removed it from my system.

    HD Radio

A nice feature of the HD Radio is that no station information is stored on the preset button. And by no information I mean no RDS, and no frequency. The only way to select presets is by number 1 through 6. Very high tech!
  4. Not that many. Maybe 5-6 movies, and few other things like video podcasts, TV shows, etc. In total probably less than 20 video files on there.
  5. not sure who you were asking skicrave... i've got a 5.5 gen ipod 30G. I do get the video tab, and the sound from the video comes through, just no video joy on the screen.
  6. Bypassed properly. Also, it will play video from an SD Card. Does album art come over on the USB or the Video input. I'm guessing the USB somehow.
  7. Yes, and I get album art just fine.
  8. Apologies, I meant to say my installer. If I'm getting sound out of my ipod that means the stereo/red-white cables are hooked up, correct? I don't know why the installer would have not hooked up the video input. That's the only reason I can figure I have sound but not video. Thanks re: the video input for the ipod vs. the backup cam.
  9. I'm aware of the search button thanks in advance...the 4807 results I got didn't help. I've got an F700 and my iPod works just fine for audio, but when I switch to the video, I only get sound from the video file. A black screen appears and no video at all. This is using the Pioneer iPod cable. My question is, did my install screw something up? Namely, not connecting the yellow/video input? Also, if I get a backup camera, that won't prevent me from getting video out of my ipod correct (meaning they aren't competing for a single video input)?
  10. The installer didn't put an antenna splitter on it. So the one antenna lead was hooked up to the HD Radio Box. On the HD Radio tuner, I couldn't get any AM, and the FM and AM tuners on the F Series didn't work at all either. Lack of AM (which is showstopper for me) combined with the digital/analog switching, and lack of preset frequency display was enough for me to ditch the HD Radio box. I'd much rather have functional AM (which is great with the basic tuner) than HD FM. When it worked, the HD FM sounded great, but it was inconsistent. I do wish the regular FM tuner had RDS. Prett
  11. HD Radio is half baked on this unit in my experience. It is constantly switching between digital and analog signals. Also, the presets do not show the station frequency, and the RDS implementation isn't great. I ended up removing the HD Radio box from mine and sending it back.
  12. If you go to Destination -> Address, and hit the city field, your # keys are functional? I got them not to be grayed out once, but can't remember what I did. Full Screen Cockpit maybe.
  13. I've used a Garmin Nuvi system for quite a while, and I've used the F Series for about a month now. It may be that the iGo/F Series Nav is more customizable and hackable, but the Garmin stuff is easier for me to use. Doing a business/POI search on the Garmin software is much easier. Also, the F Series gives too much guidance in my opinion (i.e. it tells me to keep straight more than necessary, tells me too many times about an upcoming turn, etc.). Hopefully that we be an adjustable feature in the future. In general it just seems like a few too many clicks to get it route you. A
  14. Startup with XM is pretty quick too. I was considering the Kenwood decks vs the Pioneers. In the end, the ghastly looking menu and input selection screens on the Kenwood were the show stoppers for me. It's like Windows 95 vs. OS X. I wish Pioneer had the garmin nav software though. It's superior to the the stuff on the Pioneer IMO.
