Well this damn thing is a PC, if you are (unlike me and the people at Pioneer) able to code, you can tell it more or less to do whatever you want. Since it has a flash drive I could imagine it to store daily, weekly, monthly, annual and since last reset data for the trip computer and recall it upon startup. Only difficulty might be that it does not have a proper power down cicle hence it has to store real time which might affect the performance. Anybody able and wanting to take the challenge? Jörg

No that wont work, however I think I have solved it, well at least put in a work around. Where I got to in testing before was attempting to stop the tripcomp starting if you did not have a full gps lock. This worked most of the time but sometimes you will notice the gps gains then looses lock a few times before it stays locked on. IE the status goes green then back to yellow then green again So what I have done for the new version is 1. Tripcomp will not start if the GPS does not have a full lock, As shown in the GPS status as "Accuracy=high" 2. If you try to use the tripcomp befo

Same for me, started 2 days ago GPS time is correct, time do destination is correct, but ETA is one hour later. So when you are just 1 min away from your destination at noon, it still shows an ETA of 1:00 pm Jörg

You are not the first to notice that, but nobody has ever found a way to hack that deep into the SW to be able to use that . What works for me is a CAP which buffers up to 10 Secs, so cranking is no problem anymore. There are several other threads talking about this problem and developing different workarounds such as Batteries and Caps. Just browse the forum a bit Jörg

When I installed the official Pioneer update it showed 3.0020 for my EU device, I'm now running the free update from the EU page which takes it to 3.00202. I have never seen official versions below 3.002 here in Europe. I think this might be one of the problems people are having with hacked updates: there are 3.001 and some people say they even have 3.003 which can definately not be a Pioneer update as it was around before the official one. Thanks Guys, that's what I feared. Was hoping my VSS was not hooked up and doing so would improve the performance of the Sattelite fix after reboot or the trip computer or... This is a great mod, bur obviously it cannot compensate all bugs Pioneer managed to built into this System. Jörg

Hi guys, I need a favour: Can somebody who uses this mod AND has his VSS wire connected switch his GPS off (Navi settings/gps) and see what happens to the speed display on the map? Mine stays at the speed I had just before switching the GPS off, but my dealer swears that he hooked the VSS up. Strage thing is in Tunnels or underground car parks the speed seems to match reality. Since I upgraded to the pioneer 3.0020 upgrade, I have the feeling, that the sattellite fix takes ages. OK, not ages, but 5 minutes most of the times. During this 5 minutes you can go quite a long way into the wrong direction. I run on top of the EU 3.00202 firmware update: Hacked EZrider, 2009.09 maps with licence files, Diaftia 2.3 Mod. The slow sattelite fix has nothing to do with the Diaftia Mod, as it occurred with the stock software as well. Any ideas or same observations? Thank you Jörg

It would help to know where you are. US,Europe. From your local time in the forum you must be in the US, strange they sent you a firmware containing russian. Also this is not the actual version. Are you sure you ordered this from Pioneer? Anyway: The newest firmware for Avics not updated beyond 3.0 is here in Europe 2.009. I would download it from Pioneer.eu and give it a try. If you are in the states go to pioneer US page, I'm sure they have a 2.009 for the US as well. Jörg

Hhhhmmm, strange thing TMC events showed in red on my map before I installed the Mod, now they are blue or black. Thats not just with the colour schemes Diaftia provided, but also with my old schemes. Any thoughts? Looks like this mod handles TMC events different to stock and othe mods. In the meantime I try changig the schemes by setting all TMC events to 248,0,0 let's see if that helps. Jörg

Delete the save files as suggested as well as the gpspara* files. As I have issues with the sattelite fix as well (very slow) I want to try looking into/deleting the gpspara as well. Anybody knows where it sits and what it does? Or any other thoughts experiences regarding this issue? Maybe wrong version of hacked EZrider? Thanks Jörg

Hi Guys, I'm quite exited after the first test drives today, looks just great. One question: In order to speed up the sattelite fix I have set the following in SYS.TXT: default_latitude="50.10411" default_longitude="8.44079" but it seems to have no impact. Do I need the minus in front of the 8 ? any other ideas? Since I started using mods the sattelite fix takes up to 5 Minutes, I'm sure it has nothing to do with the Antenna or the wiring, as it is much better with the stock verion of the software. Yes, I have it there as well, but as I use it quite often during navigation, thought on screen would be nice. In the quick menu you save just one click compared to stock. Maybe Merten or Diaftia can use the speedsign to access TMC Jörg

Hi AndreasF, you can change the Arrows to Strips in SYS.TXT by adding or changing the following parameters: show_guidance_arrows=0 show_guidance_strip=1 for some reason the US guys tend to use the arrows from post 3.0 in their mods, I prefer the strips as well hope that helps Jörg

Looks great, can't wait for Merten to upload EU version. I have been using other mods so far, but will give it a try, especially for the clean look. Have you ever thought about the Caller ID Window blocking the system while on a call? With the expertise you have now on the system, do you thing we can get rid of it? Or preferably make it disapear after one minute on a call? Hi IDT, while renovating my unit and adding 2009.9 maps I also switched to your Skin #2 and must say it is almost perfect. Some observations for your Info: -Distance to next maneuvre displays only values up to 3 digits correctly 1100 Meters for example are displayed as 100 Meters. Can be quite confusing. -The direct access buttons to the left are -in my opinion- a bit too small and difficult to touch precisely while on the road, I could live with just the TMC, Mute Navi, toggle (between N up, direction up and 3D) and the end route. And maybe a "show route" -Using the new 3.00202

Navteq or Teleatlas maps, Teleatlas is the provider of the stock maps for the Avic. Anyhow, for maps other than the ones delivered with the Avic or contained in the 3.0 update you need a hacked ezrider.exe and a licence file. Just browse the forum, it`s easy to find Jörg

I have the official pioneer update and installed 3.00202 without any problems (after backing up all OEM files). Now I have the latest IDT v2 and 2009.6 TA maps. Trip computer is not woking!! Jörg

Thanks to the info from vansmack it appears that it might be the keyboard UI file. It looks like this guy grabbed the keyboard800_480.ui file from the default set of mods and it started to work correctly. I will look into a fix for this based on this information.
