  1. Wow, no response at all? I figured this group would have hacked the hell out of the w4400 by now.
  2. Hey folks! It's been quite a few years since I've been on here. But when I got my Z110BT I got all kinds of information from this site and hoping I can do so again. So I just picked up my 4400NEX and will be doing a custom install into my motorcycle. I already have the reverse ribbon cable so I can install the faceplate/mount onto a custom tray on the bike. This will allow me to still be able to remove the face when I leave the bike, but the rest of the unit will be mounted inside of the bikes fairing separately. It's hard to hit all of the posts about the 4400 because I don't
  3. Am I reading wrong, or does the 2013 Map update CNSD-310FM, do most of the updates for me? Seems like the way I'm reading some of these threads almost conflict with each other.
  4. So, I'm ashamed to say I haven't been here for about 4-5 years. The last time I came to look for updates I think I read updating to the 120 didn't change much, so I stopped paying attention. I installed my z110bt in 2009 or 2010 and haven't really touched it since. Up until today that is. I've been running an old 3rd gen ipod with music videos and that's about it. I got so fed up with the maps being wrong I've just mounted my phone in the right spot and use that. Hell, I even just got my bluetooth to work for the first time today(audio that is, gonna pull the unit out tomorrow to figure
  5. Anyone know if there is a difference in the Appradio 1 & 2's wiring? Can't seem to find a solid answer. I can get the first one dirt cheap right now but eventually want to upgrade to the Appradio 2. But I'm only going to do that if all I need to do is a quick swap. Thanks Oh, and anyone know if the gps/mic plugs are the same as the Z110BT?

  7. You have to make sure the shielding is connected bud. All antennas are connected via coax. There are ways to splice a coax but I've never spliced them that small before. Basically, there is a smaller splice/heat shrink that goes from the dialectric(center plastic piece on one side of the wire) to the other dialectric, connecting the center conductor. You have to make sure the shielding isn't touching the center conductor at all or it will cause a short, which I'm sure you know. And the second splice is for the Shielding which ALSO has to be reconnected. Now, the way you described
  8. Ahhhh, that's poop. Yea, I suppose that may be right. You can still use the dock for music but for movies I donno buddy. I hate to say it but I don't think you will be able to do it with all the stuff you currently have. If you went and bought all the docking stuff for no reason because of what I have said on the forum I apologize. Is the 80 gb an option? They aren't bad prices on Ebay last I checked. Still much better to have I think than the iPod, but that's just my opinion. Anyhow, 2 more days of this base exercise... Until then I have an early bed time. Let me know what ya think
  9. I was talkin to a guy I work with and he has the 4 gb and he says it still has the tv out option. It just isn't available unless you have the dock hooked up. I'm sure it's still a feature with those, but for confirmation I would take a quick look at your manual or give Microsoft a call and verify. Hope this helps
  10. If it's the same as my 80 gb for optons (I don't know) go to Settings/Display/TvOut: on/off I checked the zune site and it says the 8 gb has an a/v output so it's gotta be in there somewhere. That help?
  11. Well, if you mean tv out in your display settings as video mode, then yes. When the a/v RCA cables get hooked to your zune, and they are hooked up to your aux port on the Z, put the Z to the Aux input mode and then setup the zune to be in TV out. It'll automatically go to the Z. If it's hooked up through the docking station you have to control everything with the remote. If you just have the A/V cable hooked up to your zune directly you can use the zune itself. Was that a lil confusing? just worked a long day so I apologize if it is. Let me know
  12. Cool man, hit me up on yahoo IM if you're going the Zune Dock idea... I'd like to know how well it looks fully installed. my S/N on there is vinweazle.
  13. Blazeman, I realized this just as I was done driving for another 6 months so I didn't get to fully install it so let me know how it goes. My idea was to cut out the very front(car front) passenger corner of the empty center speaker grill just under the clock. just a small couple holes so the usb cable & RCA cable could run down. I doubt the USB cable is going to be long enough so you'll probably need an extention cable for it, but the RCA's will certainly be long enough. I liked how clean the dock looked sitting all the way to the passenger side all the way to the front, the only probl
  14. Hmmm... What kinda car do you have? I'll tell ya, I was home for a month and couldn't find one convenient place for the dock until 2 days before I had to leave and I put 5,000 miles on that baby. What about a cup holder? Not sure how to help ya on this one, just try to be creative. If you have a spare cupholder get a piece of plexiglass or something to go over the top of it and then put the dock on that... I almost did that but I am pretty meticulous with how everything should fit in just the right place... Maybe I just have mad OCD issues. haha, I donno, send me some pics of the inter
  15. Guys, it's really not rocket science or anything. You take the typical Zune dock that you buy for your t.v./home entertainment center. It comes with the RCA's (yellow/red/white wires) built in and also a USB cable for power and a IR remote. The Z series has an aux input with built in RCA hookups. The only other thing to get is a lighter plug powered USB how-ya-doin so your Zune doesn't die after a couple hours. Find a good place to mount your Zune dock, run the RCA's to the back of your Avic-Z, plug in your usb cable and Voila! Remember, it's an IR remote so you have to be able
