  1. Ok, I burned another disk. No dice. It seems that the disks work fine if I just make a 1:1 copy of the 70 series upgrade disks. But then I get no cool backgrounds or boot up pictures. The pictures I imported are working ones I had on my 60 series disks. So I know they work. I just find it odd that the same media works fine with NO pictures added. But the second I swap out some pictures it doesnt work. Keep in mind, I have all the programs to do this. Ive done it many times on the 60 series disk maps. And I would like to think i completely know how to do this.
  2. I guess I'll try that. I dont think its that though. My PC is high high end, my SATA DVD burner is new, and my media is memorex. I also burned it at 2x when I made it. The 1st one with NO backgrounds works fine. Its the one with backgrounds that doesnt. And Im using back grounds Ive made and been using in the past with the old software. Thanks for the suggestion none the less though.
  3. Are you kidding me? Go to google.com Type "CNDV-70MTP TORRENT" Choose one that is 7.2GB or whatever size it is. Download. Be done.
  4. I got a MDS file of the upgrade disk. Burt it in alcohol 120 and it updated my system. I then realized the upgrade erased my boot up and background photos. I added them to the upgrade disk and the D2 wont accept the disk. It loaded he bootup photo, but says wrong disk if I try to go into settings. I also unplugged my XM before upgrading. This sucks! Anyone?
  5. Got your attention! HaHa! Sorry guys but I need some help with my AVIC-D2 and CNDV-70MTP. I downloaded the updated disks off the web. I burned a copy and it updated my D2. Then I realized all my backgrounds and startup photo were removed. I went back to the computer and added them to the upgraded disk. Went back to the AVIC-D2 and it loads the startup photo, but everytime I hit "settings" it says something about wrong disk. IS there a work around for this yet? PS: I searched and the only thing I found was pull the Xm data cable, which I did and that didnt work either.
  6. Thanks Guys. Off to torrent search!
  7. ipod video works fine. You need the RCA cable for the ipod. Plug it into a video and audio input on your AVIC and bam. Worked fine for me.
  8. Do we have to pay for the upgraded NAV disks from Pioneer? I see all the threads about people paying for them, and or the torrents for them. But Im not sure if thats for those whom didnt register there product or not kind of thing. Can anyone please slap me around once and confirm this? Thanks and sorry for the noob question. I just want to make 100% sure I understand it.
  9. Ah, I see. Well thanks guys! So does that mean I cant tell what my signal strength is at all? Thats a bummer if I cant.
  10. Hmm, well I have some form of cable that plugs into the XM and into my D2? Thats NOT a data cable?
  11. Hey all, My XM works great in my D2. But for some reason the D2 menu screen says its not connected, no ID and no antenna strength. Yet it works fine? And channel 1 or 0 shows my xm ID too (just FYI). I searched and found some references about the data cable. Which from what I can see, its plugged in. I could check behind the D2 once more, but Im pretty sure it plugged in. Is the data cable the only thing that causes this? Thanks! Ramman949
  12. I like the D2. The disk swapping kills the D3 in my opinion.

  14. Yeah, I went XM because I was told the hardware interfaces better with the D2. And being that they are merging at some point in the near future, left me thinking, well if I can get all the channels, I might as well get the unit that works best with the D2. Anyways, off to install it now! w00t!
  15. Hey all, Im looking to buy either the XM GEX-P920XM or the Sirius SIR-PNR2 add on. But Im not sure which one to get? Pioneer's website made mention of Sirius having limited functions and to refer to my manual about it. But I cant seem to find anything about anything being limited. And the dudes at BB are trying to sell me the Sirius one, saying it works fine. And I kinda like Sirius better, but I want my D2 and whatever I buy to have all the functions it can. What do you all say? Thanks!
  16. What are you talking about? Which system?
  17. Thanks for your Help Jason. I finally got it to work. cntrylvr79 mentioned to make sure the JPEG was NOT progressive. When I went back into photoshop, I noticed that I had saved them progressive. So I saved them without that option on and BAM it worked. Thanks cntrylvr79!!! And thank you to Jason! Boot up screen things to know BG is the folder BGOPEN2.JPG is the file to swap (Keep same name and in CAPS) 500x240 72dpi Save as JPEG (not progressive) Load into NAV Reset NAV Done.
  18. Thanks Jason. Its at the top of this thread. Its 38KB. Im glad you noticed one of my screen shots showed it only being 8KB. Which is was on that DVD. I have like 8 of them now. But the one Im currently messing with is 38KB Here is a screen shot of the actuall CD I am using now (or trying to use) http://i10.tinypic.com/4zye5a0.jpg
  19. Just tried my DVD with the 38kb jpeg and it still wont load it. Even after hitting reset for 30 seconds. Its just blank black. Which is better than nothing, but still. Again, this is the same photo I used for the normal background, but in its native jpeg format, not the PIM format for the backgrounds.
  20. yeah! Finally someone! Thank you SO much Jason. I wondered about the size myself, but didnt know how to make it larger in size. I used photoshop and created a 500x240 canvas. I then dumped Black into it to make it back background. I then added the STI logo. Saved it as a JPEG and it saves as 38kb. Whats odd, I have 2 of these DVDs I made and one of them has the picture as 8kb and the other DVD shows it as 38kb. Yet both of them dont work. Here is the second DVD disk I made and the pic is 38kb this time... http://i10.tinypic.com/4zye5a0.jpg What should I do? And i
  21. Make sure Nero names the CD the same as the NAV DVD. Mine is like CP02XXX whatever. They need to be the same name.
