3. HELP HELP HELP!!! PLZ! SEE what I did below. http://i2.tinypic.com/623xhlv.jpg
4. I have the same problem. I did it the way I was told and it just doesnt work.
5. Hey all, I figured out how to change my backgrounds and did it! And I found all the cross threads about doing your boot up picture. But its not working for me? Make ISO of NAV DVD Edit ISO and swap out BGOPEN2.JPG with yours. Told leave the BGOPEN.PIM alone. Make sure file there same size 500x240 (Same size as backgrounds right) Make sure no lower case names Make sure DVD copy is same name as nav DVD Make sure to reset D2 Yet my bootup background is black only. Why? Here is the boot up picture I wanted to use. Its the same one Im using for my ba
6. Cant find it anywhere on here or the manual?
7. I followed the instructions for SL burning and got my backgrounds on no problem. Thank you! BUT there is a LACK of information on how to do the Startup picture. Some threads say to replace BGOPEN.JPG some say replace BGOPEN2.jpg and regardless, I think there are a few of us here whom cant seem to make it work. The only info I got was that my startup logo was to small in size (8kb). I fixed that and made it 38KB with NO LUCK. Yes I reset it too. This sucks! The info here is not complete and the help doesnt come to often. POO! I say POO!
8.

Everything checked out fine. My wiring was fine. Buddy of mine said his rear speakers are the same way from factory. I probably never noticed when I was using the stock radio. Thanks for all your help guys.
Yeah bro, I checked out my STi just a few minutes ago and the fronts are a little bit louder than the rears. I really think it has to do with the front speakers having seperate tweeters.
Right on. Then thats two of you that confirmed this too. And I thought I knew everything there was about my car...

10. Ah I see. No. It doesnt. I have a pair of RCA's for FRONT I have a pair of RCS's for REAR I have a pair of RCS's for SUBWOOFER I have my AMP connected to the SUBWOOFER RCA's. The rear speaker setting is FULL (for the rear speaker RCA's) which means its all the sound goes though. You can set it to SUB to use the REAR RCA outputs as your SUBWOOFER line too. Changing the REAR RCA outputs to "SUB" WILL CAUSE the rear speakers to act like subs too. I think they do that for people whom have no amp, but want BASS to there rear speakers (like 16x9's).
11.
You seem to have it correct. Look under the rear deck and see if there are 2 sets of drivers.
What do you mean by driver Jimmy? for output sounds, I see REAR output (2 RCA's) a front output (2 RCA's) and a SUB output (also RCA's). I will recheck, but I dont remember having any extra wirings (the colored thin ones) hanging out. If I remeber correctly, all color wires from the harness matched the colored wires comming out of the head unit. I will recheck though, but Im faily positive there are no extra wires except for VIDEO/sound inputs and
12. Thank you, but no, mine doesnt offer that. It does have HPF or high pass filter which I turned off, on, doesnt change much other than let some highs though or not. Volume level stays low and muffled.
13. I see. Thanks for for you help. I used a wiring harness and matched each color correctly so Im not sure what you mean about the different drivers. I also noticed that if I put the rear setting to SW, I loose front and back fader options. Not sure if thats a issue or normal, but I noticed that. Again, I used a wiring harness and matched all colors. I then plugged my amp and subs into the SUB preouts. Not the REAR preouts, not the front pre-outs, just the SUB preouts. Doing so allows me to used the SUB ICON to turn them on or off and change the sub output level.
14. Correct. No factory AMP. I guess Im going to recheck the wires, but Im positive there matched up correctly.
15. Hey all, I recently got the AVIC-D2 and used a wiring harness for clean install. I also have a subwoofer hooked up into the SUB pre-outs. My issue is; that my rear speakers (not subs) are very quiet compaired to my fronts. My front speakers seem almost double in sound if I leave the fader at "0". I have to move my fader to +5 on the rear to ballance them out. My stock radio, all speakers were equal. Why is this? Also, I read the manual about how the rear speakers can be changed to FULL or Subwoofer and I have them set to FULL. If I changed that setting, I loose front and back fader and
16. Well POO! There goes that idea. Looks like Im going to just use my old xbox for DVD and MP3's then. Does anyone know if the xbox 1 will play MP3 DVD disks?
17.
unfortunately no, you cannot use the touchscreen interface to control it, but you cannot use the D2 touchscreen for a carputer interface either. The Avox comes with an infrared remote I use to control it. It does connect to the audio/video in, so I can see what's going on
Are you sure I can not use a carputer though the touch screen? I dont have the box in front of me now, but I thought I saw something that said windows compatiable or something? Yeah. I want to use my screen to navigate to my music. Hence the reason I wanted a carputer.
18.
No need to purchase an expensive carputer. Purchase the Vantec AVOX Mobile Media player: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6855182001 then purchase yourself a 120GB notebook harddrive for it like I did, and instant gratification! This thing plays mp3's, wma's (except WMA9 Lossless codec), OGG, ripped DVD's, ripped DVD's in ISO format, mpgs, DiVx (avi's), etc etc. I have one in my truck hooked up to my N3 through the AV inputs and works great! I have several DVD's on it, many music v
19. Hey all, Does anyone have there AVIC-D2 connected to a carputer? I thought I saw something on the outside of the box that said windows compatiable. Instead of buying the pioneer 6 disk DVD changer, or getting a non-pioneer brand (that wont allow me to use the screen), I thought about installing a carputer with windows instead. That way I can still use touch screen, get DVD playback and have a massive MP3 jukebox. Has anyone does this? If so, what windows do I need to use touchscreen? I assume this would work though the video IN and audio IN ports right? If anyone c
20.
The white rca is for the mic that is built into the rear camera. Most of the time that just gets taped up and left alone. As for the power, the camera will come with the male end that plugs into the power connector. THen you just supply switched power and ground and you're good to go.
Ah... I see. Thank you VERY much. Anyone here using a non pioneer camera? Like the ebay ones?
21. Hey All, I just got the AVIC-D2 super cheap and Im interested in knowing what types of cameras can I use for the rear camera view? From what I remember seeing on the RCA inputs/outputs, I think there was only one video line in for the rear camera. I think thats the only RCA for a camera. But the cameras I see online sometimes have 2 RCA wires. or 2 RCA wires and one plug that looks like a headphone jack that for power. This is what Im taking about... 3 wire cameras: http://discountave.net/caborevica.html 2 wire camer
