Yeah Corina asked if my unit was registered. I said no, and even offered to give her the serial number, but she didn't seem interested in wanting it. So it will be also interesting to see what happens when these are delivered. She said August for me.

Every firmware upgrade so far has been free. 3.0 is map upgrade, so it costs money. This has been rehashed only a thousand times here... It's really not that simple, is it? I mean the issue stems from Pioneer BUNDLING the firmware and maps together. What they SHOULD be doing is separating them. Firmware 3.0 should be free, and the maps should cost whatever they cost.

I had this problem a few days ago. My right side of the car had static-y sound using my iPod Nano + F700BT. I pulled out the F700BT, and pushed all the cabling in as much as I could, and taped the USB cable together, and it's been behaving since.. Just seems to be one thing after the other with the F700...

I wish they'd just release it, PERIOD!

Yes, my iPhone 3GS transfers contacts just fine, but you can't voice dial without doing the Test Mode hack, and my F700BT won't charge the 3GS.

How would it be linked to our serial number? Do we have to pull the unit out to get to the serial number if we don't have the box anymore?

I would go for $70, no question. But if it fubars my software bypass and key beeps, that's a no-no, so let's see...

I think it's a lot, especially since many of us only paid $350 for the F700BT. $350, and then over a third (cloe to half!) of that more for a software update?

The things that are really key for me to still work are: 1.) Removing key beeps (absolutely imperative) 2.) software bypass, for those who haven't ground their VSS wire. (i.e. the ability to get into Test Mode and change the speed setting to 128 or 160 etc..)

Oh, and someone rename this thread. VERY misleading, since 3.0 obviously hasn't been released.
