  1. About 8 or 9 months ago I replaced my stolen 700BT with a new one and upgraded my software with as what I remember was put together possibly by Maverick. It had a lot more features than the new FX3.1 software (especially the map display) that I recently (last week) loaded on another new 700BT as the last one was stolen again about a week ago. I remember saving the SD card with the older software on it, but now can't find the card. Does anyone know where I might find the older software and instructions for loading it? I like the new upgrade, but would prefer the one I was using on the last head

    Ipod question

I have decided to buy an iPod to carry my music for my 700. I have never owned an ipod type of media player mostly because I am totally deaf in one ear and putting anything in the other ear just makes me crazy. So my question is...I'm looking for an ipod that holds maybe 8 gigs of music at a time. In looking around there have been several iterations of the ipod. Which is the cheapest model that will utilize the 700's controls and display, maybe something I can find used on craigslist or ebay. Thanks for any help. Gerry
  3. Glad you got it working. It drives you crazy when things go a little wrong............ Yup...when they go major wrong it is usually easy to find...it"s the little things that make you nuts.
  4. Well, I restored it one more time and tried it again...it all seems to be working ok now...must have had a corrupted file as I reformatted the SD card, downloaded the update and reloaded it on the card. Thanks so much...
  5. Have you deleted the files in USER/USERDATA/IGO?SAVE before you installed the new ones? I deleted the IGO folder after installing the new files in the first folder. Is there a new file to install in the IGO dir after deleting the old files. Do I delete the entire IGO file or just what is inside it?
  6. I have attempted to follow the directions to the letter. The second file, the one that says to put the contents in My flash disk folder I just copied and pasted into My flash disk. Now when I boot the 700 it first says "FFUIERROR: Parse Error [ expected] if I say ok to that it just goes to the Pioneer Sound.Vision.Soul splash screen and it says mainscreen load in the lower right corner and just sits there for a couple of minutes and then goes to my custom splash screen and just stays there till I turn it off. I have copied and pasted the files over twice with the same result. I have done sever
  7. Yup...I did that. I'm surprised more people haven't tried this. It would give you access to as many gigs or music or videos as your HD will hold. It is a very small form factor. You can operate the laptop from the 900 screen using an air mouse and downsized wireless keyboard, it would give you internet either thru wi-fi, tethering your cell phone to the computer either thru bluetooth or hardwire, or a 3G wireless card like Sprint or Verizon. By connecting your carputer to your OBD connector you could monitor engine functions in real time, how about traffic cameras in real time. I guess I'm jus
  8. The 15 pin VGA adapter actually has two outputs one is an s-video and the other is a yellow RCA connector. When I plugged the RCA output from the computer into the yellow RCA input on the 900 and cycled thru the ext 1 and 2 options, the screen never did show up. The music however did play thru the red and white audio inputs. I do have a wireless air mouse and keyboard I was planning on using as my input devices. Everything works, just need the video from the laptop to output to the 900.
  9. I have an Aspire One netbook that I would like to be able to view on the 900 screen. I found a VGA 15 pin connector to a composite RCA connector. I tried it but it did not work. I turned on the second monitor in Win XP on the laptop, but no go. By using an adapter for the sound enabling me to connect my laptop to the red and white RCA connectors I am able to play my 80GB of music on the laptop thru the 900. It would be nice to be able to view the computer screen on the 900 for song selection, using the internet etc, without having to have the laptop open on the front seat. Any suggestions on s
