I had really bad alternator noise on my Z1, previous owner of my vehicle/z1 had shorted something on install and had put in the hack of grounding the rca wires, but I was still getting some static. I sent in my unit to Pioneer, they said there is a standard $200 repair fee for this model. I got the unit back pretty quick, i believe it was just under two weeks including shipping time. The problem was totally fixed and i undid the rca ground hack. The paperwork from Pioneer said the fix was just a fuse! (part number CEK1260). I looked up the part number on Pioneer's website and they list it

What is the going rate for a factory repair of this problem?

which partitions can be made larger, and how much larger can they be made when using a 60gb drive?

What operating system does the Z1 use? do Z2 & Z3 run the same? I've been using search, but not having luck.

I plan to buy a new MK6034GAX, create the partitions, and install the z3 image. Since it is a brand new drive, I would suspect no unlocking is required. Since this would be a brand-new hard-drive, is there anything needed to have the avic properly recognize the drive beyond creating the correct partitions? Any other notes for this strategy?
