Mine did that also. There are 2 different postings of wiring bypass for the f series. Originally I used the hack to move the mute wire one position up. You need to move it between the two black wires 3 positions over to the left. See http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19689 That did it for me.
