  1. Just for the record: I changed my F900BT for a Kenwood DNX-8220BT and lived happily ever after... OK there's still no voice recognition support for iPOD/iPHONE (which I don't have anyway, Android all the way ), but at least I have voice dial support.
  2. Well I heard the F series are way cheaper in the US compared to europe. Over here the F900BT costs 1199EUR while the 8220BT goes for 1995EUR So the price is not an issue... My main concern is the navigational skills of the 8220, It's Garmin navigation software on the Kenwood right? I own a Garmin zumo 550 which I use on my motorcycle, and must admit that I'm quite happy with it. Can someone also clarify the SD-card capabilities of the 8220?? On the kenwood site it says it has an SD-card slot to make map-updates more user-friendly... It's not really clear if the SD-card slot can be
  3. See topic: http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=137719#137719 I'm quite frustrated about my 3-day old EU-F700BT not having VR support, but most of it not having voice dialing support at all... I was reading a bit on other headunits and found out about the Kenwood DNX8220BT or 5220BT I guess I can convince the shop to swap my F700BT for either of these 2 Kenwood units, plus a little extra cash off course... Any opinions on the F700/900BT vs the DNX8220BT or 5220BT?? Couldn't really find a comparing review on the internet...
  4. Are there any updates on this one? Reading the past post i guess the VR support comes together with putting the unit into "Enlgish (US)" language. Has anyone managed to do this on non-US version so far? Thanks guys..
  5. Well off course the only one to really blame, is me, I admit that. Stupid me for not checking the specs thoroughly... On the other hand, I didn't even know before buying, that the US versions had VR, but what I did EXPECT (seeing the price range of this unit), is that it could do trigger a plain simple voice dial on my phone... If you buy any carkit today, lets say a Nokia or a Parrot one, most of those carkits will have voice dialing support (provided that your phone supports it). Even those bloody bluetooth headsets have support for it. But a 1000 EURO stereo/navi/carkit device doesn
  6. Well that's easier said than done here in Europe It works as advertised (in the specs for EU model it says nowhere that there're any VR capabilities), it's just that I had expected this work... I know that refunding is a lot easier in the US. Here in Europe the unit needs to be broke or not working as advertised before they'll give you anything back. And even if they do the best you can hope for is that they'll give you a voucher which you can only use at their shop. Also I drive a Ford F150, and I thought this car a double DIN stereo space, apparently this wasn't the case so I had
  7. Hi Iceman. Although I'm afraid I can't help and/or answer your question, I'd just like to express my disappointment of this product I'm from Belgium and bought my F700BT just a couple of days ago. I too was very suprised to learn that appently VR support has been thorn out of the EU software The F700BT replaced my Nokia CK-7W bluetooth carkit. On the old Nokia carkit I could just press the control button for several secs and it would allow me to voice-dial any of my contacts, I used this feature all the time. Now with the F700BT, the best I can do is go to contacts and bro
