iaf_22: any answer to this question?

When I called Pioneer on Friday to order the new update, she told me it would be a few weeks before it would ship and said "Thank You"....I asked if she wanted my CC# and she said that the 3.0 update is free. I told her I wanted the update WITH maps and from what I understood it was $130 but on special for $60 - she said, "Oh, I thought you wanted the update only" and agreed that the price for update with maps would be $60. So apparently there is an update that works without maps and it will be free...has anyone called Pioneer and asked for the 'free' 3.0 upgrade?

When I had hard wire bypass only, I would get a parking brake warning when I went over 10mph (I think that is the correct override speed), this continued until I did the software bypass. Either way, the question remains: can you still software bypass using testmode in 3.0

Not sure what you mean... Are you talking about watching video while the parking brake is off ?? The shop who installed me the Avic did this bypass for me... and this is still working. They did for mine. Searched for my name to make sure my unit was registered. Me too. I didn't think of checking my registration as a way or retrieving my SN# on my unit, but they pulled me up based on registration

now to just get it hacked...

Got mine ordered. I ordered 2 - I have two units. Probably could've gotten away with one but if I was wrong and it wouldn't work on both, I didn't want to pay full price! I'm a sucker I know.

CNSD-100FM I see no mention of the $60 price. I'm not clear where your friend has received his info. or who is offering this price. At this time there are also no pre-orders with Pioneer. Perhaps a retailer has made this offer.

Just got off the phone w pioneer. I called to order the $60 3.0 w/maps. This is what I have been wondering and want to know.

If theis had been happening occasionally all along, I'd think less of it but from May-June there have been dozens and dozens of posts about it. Some have had their unit a few weeks, others over a year. Some had modded theirs, others haven't. Maybe this is an argument that 3.0 should be provided for free, IF it prevents this malfunction that is.

Where are you located? I'm sure that if you went by an authorized dealer, they would have one. You'd only need it for 15 minutes or so. Sadly, it took mine about 2 weeks or so to arrive from Pioneer. I'd highly recommend ordering one at this point, whether you have problems or not. It looks like it will come in handy sooner or later. Anyone know if it has been posted on megaupload or some other file sharing site? I'd love to know why they is such a rampant occurance all of a sudden.

I think that it has been hypothesized that the firmware will likely be released as a free '3.0-only' version at some later point in time. It is, of course, speculation only at this point though.

I love the 90BT. I have two. I can deal with the mild issues of 2.0 to the point that if 3.0 beaks my mods, I won't go for 3.0. The mods are the one thing that makes it worthwhile. Kenwood/Garmin can't compete in that aspect, and it (in my opinion) pushes the F-Series ahead of the Kenwoods. I really don't have significant issues with the F90. Yes, sometimes my bluetooth doesn't hang up right away, but usually it does. I can take an extra 30-60 seconds of silence. Is it ideal, no. Bootup time, not an issue for me. Put the SD card Pioneer supplied into the unit and let the card do its thing. you can get them for free from Pioneer. My Fix: 1. insert 2.0 card and revert back to 2.0 2. Go into Testmode 3. Copy/Paste the harddrive files (I had a full backup of the modded data file

Agreed. I stumbled upon this fix trying everything out of desperation. Worked for me too.

The one I worked on was less than 6 months old. I don't know the mfg date though

All of these since April of this year - none (that I am aware of before). Ridiculous that this hasn't been addressed by Pioneer. Seems to me like this is encroaching on product recall territory.

I've noticed a TON of rebooting/failure to boot/black screen threads - listed below are some of the threads. Has anyone contacted Pioneer about this? CLEARLY there is a widespread issue here. With no recent updates, it's hard to blame it on a recent change but this has suddenly become a bigger problem. I don't recell it being mentioned a couple of months ago.
