  1. You are probably picking the button in the bottom left corner. That button is sensitive to traffic setting. I have an error pop up if you have the setting enabled but I might need to take a look and see why its getting overridden if the setting is not on. You can always pick a different spot and it will stick after a reboot.
  2. Adjust the smartzoom setting to be in closer. Either that or turn it off and manually zoom in closer. It will hold there. I say adjust the max zoom out setting to be closer in. You could always use the line below in your sys.txt. it will put the street names in a bubble which makes them easier to read. [3d_config] disable_roadsign_navigation_mode=0 This only works after you get a GPS signal or start a route. It will then put the street names in a white speech bubble.
  3. Just go in to testmode and copy all of the files that are on "my flash disk" to your SD card. You will need at least 1.2-1.5GB free on the SD card. You can use my download to get into testmode just hit cancel at my install script. When done copying all of the files (probably 30 minutes or so) reboot again and then pick an install option. It will copy the files in 2 minutes. Reboot and eject SD card and you are done. Alex
  4. Wasn't there a flag that you could set in sys.txt in the 3D section to show the street names in a popup? What was it? Anyone remember? show_street_names?
  5. I was wondering, Is it possible that for Canadian maps, the highway signs don't show? Same with the lane indicator? I notice one of the picture it has 2 signs that looks like the signs on highways and at the bottom, it shows you which lane to be on. I tried it on my unit while driving on some major highways and nothing. I should add, I'm really glad you tone down the voice notification now. I used to always turn the voice guidance off cause she talk way too much hehe. Also one last question, when I go over the speed limit, is there a way to change the warning so that instead of sa
  6. I didn't decrease them. I took several out and changed the minsilence value (which is the time between prompts). Either way, yes, just grab the voice file from my mods. I will try to mod all of the languages and package them for all to use.
  7. You could just make a screen off ui file (just a black background) and put a button someplace on the nav screen. You want what I have created in my mods but I added the date and clock (as well as weather for msn subscribers). Just make the black background a button back to st_navigatemap.
  8. One option, er hack, would be to put a switch on the switched ignition source to the radio. Would work for those odd times you need to reboot the unit too.
  9. You can do one of two things: 1. Open up the zip file and edit the navigatemap_800_480.ui file. Find the line for the clock and make the fontsize= value larger. 2. Check out the completed mods section and see if one of the existing mods has what you need. In my mods for example it's a little larger. What I do have though is a custom "off screen" accessible via a quick menu that would allow you to bring up a screen with a really big clock and date. If you have an MSN sub it will also show the current weather.
  10. This app is really weird. I am not sure it operates like most other apps. For example when you open any file other than a txt file (say an mscr file) it tries to open a help file in a loop and you get stuck. Its some random file that I found here: http://scw.us/ce/notepad/ If anyone has the wince notepad from an actual non-stripped copy of wince (say a smartphone) that would be the best program to experiment with.
  11. I have seen this happens when you have used 3dcars with someone elses mods before. It renames or modifies something outside of sys.txt and the standard save files. I have yet to reverse engineer this. But I have a GT-R in my emulator that I cant get rid of. Part of the reason I never installed it on my unit. One of two things you can do... restore from backup (which is why you might have requested mine), or install someones mods that has 3Dcars on it and set it back to the arrow. Then install my mods again. Alex
  12. Can you check to make sure the device setting and the tmc settings are correct in sys.txt? Maybe post them here so I can see?
  13. Hey Bud- Do you still need this? PM me if so. I will need some time to compress and upload everything so I want to make sure you didnt get this done already. Alex
  14. All the mod does is rename your map directory. It will use your existing POI and building files. You can enable a toggle in the sys.txt to rotate the poi directory too although I have not played with that much.
  15. Hi- Yeah to keep the sanity of my script it is very specific to SD card (hence the extract to sd card in the file name). If you need to install from USB I would have recommended doing exactly what you did. Copy the contents of mitacap to the root of the flash disk. Glad you got it working and you are welcome!
  16. I tested this and its working fine. Not sure what is going on. On mine it hides the bottom bar and album artwork. There is only one Pioneer toggle for this. Its not really configurable. If you can take a picture of it so I know we are talking about the same thing that would be great.
  17. Yeah I have noticed this too. I think there is a movecursortoselecteditem missing in there someplace. Its never worked right. I will add it to the list. That number reflects what the speedcam setting is. Not what the street speed is. So if the street speed is 55 and the speedcam data says its 65 it will show 65. Edit the speedcam and it will show correctly. Depends on what setting you have for speed warning I think. You can edit the volume and type of setting per camera type.
  18. Hey guys... sorry for not responding. I have been moving all weekend and am still unpacking. Been slammed at work because its Monday. I will try to respond to all posts tonight or tomorrow. I know there is one problem with the installer. On the US devices for some reason its using the F500 UK sys.txt. Just change the device type and tmc settings to get MSN and bluetooth working. Had to do it on mine. Good news is you can do that directly on the AVIC since I include a notepad.exe program. Will reply to all posts soon. Thanks, Alex P.S. Thanks to all of those that genero
  19. No. That file should be pretty much done. I notice some images are darker than the buttons. I may go back to some older images eventually. But for now it's fine.
