  1. Going well so Far [thank god I'm an East Coaster] East 40% done West 0% done Seeds/Peers East 0 (1) / 4 ( West 0 (1) / 1 (1) All trackers updated and seem to be going well. Things will pick up once we have a group doing the seeding. Thanks again SWDW for the help.
  2. Thank you SWDW for the new files. Once these are tested in my unit I will post them up to the newsgroups most likely alt.binaries.cd.image Thanks for the hard work. I will also provide Par2 sets for people to verify their downloads.
  3. I can verify that the disc did NOT work for me as well. Update programming went fine, but my home in Central NJ (Near Rutgers University) did not show up closer than 0.5 miles. 0.1 or 0.02 mile zoom mode produced only a blue background (with POI intact) but no map road data. As a result the unit said it could not calculate any trip due to insufficient map data near the start or ending point. Other areas in my address book (MD, VA) could zoom in to max levels without problems. Quick guide to get back to 80MT if you have a burn/disc failure: 1) Change language to French with the 90MT
  4. Well the disc burned and seemed to do the update just fine. The map data appears to be OK. I still have to drive around to see if there are any glitches or problems, but on my unit the update worked fine via the East Disc. I use a memorex DVD+R DL disc and burned at 2x on a 20" iMac with toast. Used UDF as the disc format. EDIT: After more testing the map data is not fully functional. The unit will upgrade, but you can not calculate a route due to insufficient map data. I am still trying to play with settings to get a working copy.
  5. Torrents works as a distributed network. So you are both downloading parts from multiple people and uploading parts to different people. This way the network traffic is spread across a large group of people and prevents everyone getting things from only 1 source. Having a quality upload speed will help everyone get the parts they need quicker.
  6. 77% done and counting. I will leave my torrent client open for others to grab from as needed for as long as I can. Thanks for the hard work!!!
  7. Thanks for the work and effort. I'll do my part for those that can't/don't know how to work torrents. I will upload both disks separate to the newsgroups with par2 sets attached. Hopefully this will help propagate the disks around to more people. I will also leave my computer on for an extra few days to help with the seeding. My ISP gets real picky with uploaded bandwidth (Upload caps with no warning).
  8. and it looks from the manual like the sirius display is still screwed. Only 1 line and I'm not sure about channel displays. I would love some input from someone who has seen the sirius interface first hand.
  9. How does the Sirius interface look. Any improvements over the current gen (D/F series) will it allow multiple line displays or display station logos? That is 1 major feature that will make me want to switch over from my D3. Also with the motorized display does it allow for "reverse" angulation. Tipping the screen so the top farther out than the bottom. In my car with the top down glare is a major problem and this configuration is much better. (So sitting in the drivers seat and looking at teh side of the radio:) / <-- is how I would need the unit to be positioned
  10. Just wondering how the Ridax adapter is working out for you. I am quite interested, but wanted to see if it caused any problems prior to purchase. Any heat issues or electrical noise issues?
  11. Just offering the file on a news server for those that use them. Start reading if you want to be part of the "in" crowd. http://www.slyck.com/ng.php everything you could possibly want to know about newsgroups, how they work and how to get stuff from them.
  12. I would be most interested in this. Put the file up on rapidshare, gigasize etc or some other website. You could also put it up in the newsgroups or as a last resort use bit torrent. I would also try contacting jlong1987 and seeing if he will post this file as well. He has been graciously hosting the Upgrade discs on his FTP server and people have been quite happy with the speed and his great service. Thanks again.
  13. how about for the sirius side of things. I would love to change those graphics out!!
  14. I would recommend you contact jlong1987 for access to his FTP server and upload the west disk ISO. He has been very kind in leaving his server running for all to grab the east disc so far. He has very good speeds and many have the disc now thanks to him. As far as I know the East disc is the actual upgrade disc, but the West disc is from the N-5. Many people here would be very grateful if you were able to provide the 80-MT disc for the West coast.
  15. Here is a direct link to my post announcing the release of the East disc to the newsgroups. I have included a nzb file for easy downloading. This is the same CNDV-80MT East disc that is available on the ftp server. I have also included par2 files for recovery. The link should take you directly to my post. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18353&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=141
  16. The is the same image that was downloaded from the ftp site. It is the actual 80MT disk NOT the N5 disc. I do not have the west disc or else I would put that up as well. As for burning you have to use the "burn image" tool in your burning program. Update directions for dummies (Using my nzb file) I'll assume you already have premium newsgroup access and a news program such as Unison or Newzleecher. Unrar the multiple files and you will be left with a file CNDV-80MT East.iso this file should be 7.6 GB Open up your burning program (Nero, alcohol 120% toast ) and pick burn
  17. I have uploaded the East disc to the news servers here is a NZB file for the entire thing with 5% par2 recovery blocks. Thanks to everyone for getting this together. CNDV-80MT East Disc.zip
  18. Just wanted to say thanks to all. The Disc (the zipped version) downloaded and burned fine to a ritek DL DVD-R disc with my Pioneer DVR-112D Burner. I used Nero version 7 with no issues at all. My buddy burned the same image with a different burner and media and his unit had no problems either. To help take some of the wear and tear off of jlong1987's server I will put the whole thing up on the newsgroups (Usenetserver) I will post a newzbin when it's completed. I'm creating the par2 files now.
  19. I just wish the FTP would resume the DL from where it left off. I am at attempt #3 of trying to get the entire thing!! Also a sfv or crc file would be nice to confirm complete file transfer. I will post Par sets to the newsgroups when I have the whole thing.
  20. Just wondering if the files have been uploaded to the mirror servers yet. Tanks for the hard work in getting this together. I plan on uploading this to the News servers (with nzb file posted) once I have the complete thing. I have a 15/2 connection so I will help seed as long as I can as well. THANK YOU for all the hard work. waiting sorta patiently for the torrent link to appear.
  21. it will work just "fine". Or as fine as any of the other ones do. Only 1 line of text at at time
  22. although you can typen in the numbers for your 6 presets. You can not rename them so it will just be the phone numbers, but you can at least enter then in for quick reference.
  23. I had to delete my old registered phone and then re-pair and re register the iPhone. After that it connects automatically as it should.
  24. No phonebook, but you can add numbers to the preset buttons (no way to change the names, but you can see the numbers at all times. Voice dial through BT, not that I'm aware of. CallerID numbers should show up (often come up as Unknown) Call quality is quite good though. Good luck and have fun Just a side note. . . I had to delete my previous phone (Moto Q) and re-pair / re-register the iPhone in order to get the autoconnect to work.
