  1. Are you using a SDHC card reader? I didn't think there was a difference, but in order for winXP to recognize the card you will need to get a SDHC reader. Then you will be able to format or whatever. (your 2 gb card is probably just SD w/o the HC)

The avic definitely supports SDHC. Once you get the new reader you will be able drag and drop music files to your card. Most recommend that you create several folders to put your music in---whether by genre or artist to get the best performance from the avic.

Yea I'll try that... thx and update here......

  2. It supports SDHC just fine. I use a 4GB Panasonic SDHC card in my F700BT. Try formatting your card on a computer or in the AVIC (if it has that option) instead of in your camera.

My 8GB SDHC that works fine in my camera doesn't work in any card reader or my AVIC regardless of how i try to connect it... The only way I can get the pics off the 8GB SDHC card is to plug the camera up to my PC...

I have tried formatting it FAT32 with no luck... none of my card readers see it - so I can't copy files onto it... useless!

I want to buy a 32GB or a 64GB SD card and just leave it in the AVIC...

Which one works?? And I'll buy it! Thx!

  3. I can't see to download the x910 Backup Files, i click the link and get a bunch of jibberish with some piratebay tracker url but I can't find the files. anyone else have this problem?

have you read this thread at all? This has been covered a dozen times... right click the torrent and save as... then open with your bittorrent client.....

  4. this was very easy, time consuming but easy, and well worth it so far. Does anyone else have trouble hitting the edit menu in testmode though? or is it just me?

You have to calibrate the screen when u boot into WinCE

Start > control panel > screen calibration or something similar... i had trouble with it too until I calibrated it...

  5. Okay, so I've been reading through some of these "unofficial" install guides, and I still can't really get a firm answer. If you download these files onto SD cards and upgrade to 3.0 on the F90BT, do you still have to go to Pioneer's password generator site in order to authenticate or whatever? I assume that's the process they make you go through to ensure that you've paid for the software, which is what I can't figure out. In the "unofficial" installs, is this process not required?

no activation or whatever is required... you would think if it was required it would be mentioned in the guides.

  6. Step 4.4: Press the volume knob in this sequence and you will see * signs for each push: Up, Up, Down, Menu, Left, Right.

This part makes me laugh! It reminds me of doing Sub-Zero's fatality on Mortal Kombat II. LOLOLOL!

    "FINISH HIM!"

well if you are old like me, it reminds me of the Contra cheat code on Nintendo! :D ....

  7. looks like we have a problem... i hope i didnt brick it.

i only have a 2GB sd card and i was going back and forth between the pc and the car to update and when i go back inside to load it with the 1.59GB sd3 data load, for some reason, it runs out of space at around 995MB. its a 2GB card and i formatted it! i tried a few times and it still thinks it only has about 1GB space on it.

can i start all over again once i have a new SD card or is the system bricked? i get a blank screen after the pioneer logo screen.

any help will be greatly appreciated...

um you should be able to fit all required files onto ONE 2GB SD card... be sure you disable hidden files... maybe there is a hidden file in there thats taking up the space?

    This is what I did:

I had the WINCE files on the root of the SD card

And the TestMode folder containing the small files required for testmode to work.

then I made a folder called "My flash Disk" so I know which files to copy and then I dropped the torrent files into this folder... be sure you're only copying these files into the avic's "my flash disk"..... make sense?

all the files total are just under 2GB so everything fits just fine... not sure how you have managed to fill it up...

  8. what does this mean?

    SD 2: TestMode 2.3 - 1.65MB ( Must be in a testmode folder)

"must be in a testmode folder"

also, does it have to be untarred first?

this means exactly what it says... copy the "testmode" folder to the SD card... otherwise testmode wont work! durh...

and yes it has to be unzipped... i swear some of you guys cant even manage to unzip a file... I dont think you should be modifying your AVIC... i mean its not that hard is it?

  9. yea i would like to fix this as well.... also no street labels in 3d mode unless u zoom in... kind of annoying... and when you turn the car off and back on, the zoom goes back to default so you have to zoom in again to get the street labels back... so im just using 2D N^ for now until I can fix it...

  10. i can use this guide to go from my stock v2.0 f90bt to v3.0 right? i dont have to buy the update from pioneer?

You can steal it, then this guide will work OK.

im asking if those files in the first post for SD1, SD2 and SD3 are downloaded, is that all that i would need for the update?

yes... u can put them all on one 2GB SD card... just be sure you are coping the right files to the right place...

  11. Please HELP.

I followed the instructions as best I could,

I copied the "my flash disk" (unzipped )from the torrent to the my flash drive on the f900.

then i copied the "data" file to the "my flash drive/apl2/igo" folder.

I pressed the RESET and EJECT for 5 seconds...

now my f900 only will boot to windows. and if i take out the sd card with testmode on it it will just shut off while booting and show nothing at all.

    What have I done wrong?

my f900 has been reduced to an old useless PC.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING!!!!

Try this guide its much easier to understand... print it out and follow along in your car... good luck.

Be sure you are coping the right files to the right place...

this is what you should see on your "\My Flash Disk" after copying... be sure there is no testmode folder on the AVIC's Flash Disk otherwise it will get confused...

So go through this process again and DELETE everything in the \My Flash Disk drive on the avic and be sure to copy ONLY the stuff from the torrent and not anything else... dont do any mods for now... leave the data.zip out for now. you can always do the mods later. for now just get 3.0 working.

  12. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/ephox ... Update.pdf

Use this PDF for the 3.0 to 3.01 update.. its so easy I'm not sure how you can mess this up since you were able to do the 3.0 upgrade as far as I can tell.

Just put the ""LPUE080" folder on the root of the SD card and boot up the AVIC with the SD card in it and it will start automatically...

I also tested MP3 playback from my SD card and changing tracks is instant... For those that are having slow performance from their SD cards, I would try getting a better quality SD card. I am using a 2GB Sandisk from Radioshack which was about $14... I am able to copy files to it from my PC at about 2-3MB/s so the avic should be fine with this.

  13. Post some pics - wouldn't mind seeing that setup.

    Thx,

    Ben

    :D:twisted:

Are you planning on putting another screen under the avic?

    There may be room there??

Nice ride btw --> here is mine:

Sorry - getting off topic...So I wonder if anybody is actively working on this...

Sweet - actually the 2nd screen can go above it in the JDM nav pod... this option was a factory option in japan and was used for OEM nav back in the day. but now it can be used for other things :)
