  1. no need to reinvent the wheel here guys:

    http://scienceofspeed.com/products/engi ... HKS_CAMP2/

This works with any OBDII car... you would just use the A/V Input for the HKS CAMP2 as a source and switch over to it as needed... it has a remote control so I guess you could write a small app to control it? Or set it up on a 2nd LCD screen..... 8)

Downside about this is that you won't have audio while looking at this, correct? Can you jsut switch over the video portion and keep the radio playing? I'm thinking no?

The other option is to try to see if you can use the backup video feed, but think this could cause complications also...

yea thats why it might work better with a 2nd LCD screen which isn't always an option for most cars... my NSX can have 2 LCD screens in the console tho so thats a plus :)

  2. hey guys, i need some help here.

EVERYTHING seems to be running perfectly on my BT700.

i just have one QUESTION, the folder "DUMPFILES" didnt appear after copying everthing over. While it is empty anyway should i go back and drop it in??? EVERY other file went over ok, i thought it was odd

nah i dont think u need it.

  3. How long should it take to go from step 6 to 7? Mine says "Read Progress 100%" but doesn't seem to advance to step 7..! Help! It's been about 15 min so far. Will I brick it if I turn it off and try again???? Please help ASAP!!!
Well I waited for about 30 min and nothing changed, so I rebooted it and it's still working at 2.0. Can anyone help me understand why it didn't work? I followed the guide perfectly:

Here's what I did: Wiped my SD card and made sure it is FAT32.

Put 2 files on it, WINCEIMG.BIN and WINCEIMG.CKS.

Followed the directions to step 6, and it just hung indefinitely. Tried a 2nd time and got the EXACT same result.

    PLEASE someone HELP!

GUYS for the last time use this improved guide!

 how many times do we have to say it? Once you use this better guide, its fairly idiot proof... or so i thought.

  4. no make sure u are holding the buttons correctly to get it into test mode and then putting in the correct combination to get into the menu inside testmode. it took me a few tries... be sure u are waiting for the "please push reset button again" to release the menu and maps button... again for those having trouble look at the better guide!

All these reboot problems are attributed to people not doing something right... be sure u hold the right buttons for the right amount of time.

Step 4.0: Turn unit on with the SD card in. When the pioneer logo comes up,

Step 4.1: press and hold the menu, map, eject buttons at the same time and hit the reset button ONCE.

Step 4.2: Once you hit the reset button, you will hear a pop sound from your speakers.

Step 4.3: Then the DVD/CD drive will load. When you hear this let go of the eject button but continue to hold menu and map buttons until you see the blue screen show up.

This is kind of tricky to get it right but keep trying... it shouldn't reboot after you get it into the first blue menu...

  5. I just drove 300 miles with my X710BT today. Not particularly good in sunlight, particularly with polarized sunglasses. Seems to be clearer with my regular (non sun-)glasses in the direct sunlight.

yea i use polarized sunglasses too... i wont wear anything else :) i really wish pioneer would wake up in that these LCD screens perform poorly w/ direct sunlight... there are certain LCD's that are designed for outdoor use... in which the LCD screen is bright and very clear even in direct sunlight... i'm surprised that pioneer hasn't caught on to this.

  6. I just updated to 3.01 so its acting a bit better.... but it still takes about 30 seconds for the nav to respond once I pull out of the parking garage.. I guess thats normal? And its weird that that I have to select a 2nd way point, then click map again, then scroll thru 2D, 3D and N^ to get it to go into 3D mode again... very strange.. but all in all the system is working pretty well. :)

  7. I'll mirror it tonight and post it here... if someone can tell me how to update to 3.1 :P:twisted::P

I'm not trying to be rude here, but what you're asking has already been answered. The instructions are AT the link for the 3.01 update. As I said earlier:

"That's the 3.01 update. Read the instructions from page one for the 3.0 update. Once you're on 3.0, read the instructions for 3.01 and install accordingly."

What question remains? Update 3.0 based on the instructions posted here. Go to the 3.01 update and follow the instructions there.

no worries i found the link on pioneers site.. thx

  8. alright one question for the end for the x910 file where i am putting that exactly.

Thank for your help so far

Copy the files inside that zip file into the "\my flash disk".... it should look like this:

    http://www.imagebam.com/image/7d979142574344

But first delete everything that is in your "\My Flash Disk" .....then copy the files over... be sure to copy the files INSIDE "My Flash Disk" from the SD card and not the folder "My Flash Disk"...

  9. Just select ipod as source. Pause playback from the screen, open Pandora and the audio will stream from the dock connector to the head unit.

hmm ok... what cable are you using for your iphone? the one supplied from pioneer doesn't work w/ my 3g.. iphone has latest firmware.

  10. Sorry just found out that the option i was talking about was in 2.0. I noticed when i had 2.0 my nav wuld act weired when stopped and then when i selected the snap to road option or always on road (can't remember the exact name) it stoped dong that. I am work right now and rode my bike or i ould go outside and try to find out if the option is still in 3.0. The waypoints you should be able to press the map button to get rid of it. As far as i know the way point is the last place you were at between power cycles.

hmm i see... i dont really need to know where i was last time as I'm pretty sure I know where I have been lol... is there a way to disable it and make it go into 3d mode when u turn it on? its kind of a PITA to have to mess with it to get it working... maybe 3.01 will fix this?

  11. at the end the "my flash disk" i accidently tried putting the x910 bt zip into that i deleted some stuff and now the unit just keeps reseting blue screen then black

then start over at step one... and copy the correct files to the proper place... you need to UNZIP the .zip file with WINRAR (www.rarlab.com) and then follow the instructions in the link above.

  12. hey i need some help mess up at the end can someone help me my unit is not bricked yet If you can help me please call me cell 201 982 5782

um first of all I can barely understand what you just said...

secondly, what exactly is your problem? Where did you get stuck?

    viewtopic.php?f=34&t=25817

This guide is much easier to understand... read it... or print it out and try it again..

  13. When the car is not moving, the map rotates 180 degrees really fast and then back a few times then it settles down when I start moving again... why is this? Will the 3.0 update fix this? Thanks

In navi settings i beleive there is an option to snap to road. Turn that option on and that should fix it.

hmm i couldn't find that option...

another thing after i updated to 3.0, when the system boots up and i go to the nav screen, there is a waypoint selected and I am unable to remove it... but after a few minutes of mucking with it, it will finally let me go to 3D mode... why is this? How do I remove waypoints?
