CNDV-80MT can't do address search or POI search

I am kinda having the same problem. I am new to using these pioneer head units. When I installed the 2008 maps I am not able to do an search with the east coast dvd, but with the west cost I can. When the east coast is inserted the buttons are unclickable. Any thoughts? O yea this is when I am stopped.
