for the record, anybody that bought this unit thinking this had a USB is because they are an idiot. they apparently cant read the specs... would you also like an IP -Bus connector so you can hook up your 10 disc changer? they did it on purpose... usb doesn't work for android, iOS needs a special cable, using flash memory is terrible, but you might as well just use microSD cards if you want to. they are pushing toward using BT and to use their supported partnerships (cough cough Pandora) if you really need it that badly, then you can buy the optional part... do yours

when he says this, he is hinting at the general section (the section you are in right now) of this forum is not where you would find information about modifying or hacking the software on your system. since that is getting past some of you, allow me to hint harded... IF there were a section called something like mods and hacks, then there MIGHT be some very important and often covered topics that are kinda tacked or pinned to the top of the page so that they dont fall off the top......

well the app radio is not really a stand alone unit, it doesnt have a CD/DVD drive and is basically a AM/FM radio with a large screen, it heavily relies on your Iphone's internal resources for most of its content and nav stuff where as the 3500 doesnt need another device to be fully functional. also from my experience, the AVH series is far less glitchy that the app radio series. not to say that the app radio is bad, because for its price, its a pretty good value, but it is not perfect and as long as your willing to deal with the little hiccups then it could be a great choice. agreed, the app radio 2 is a pretty good value, the newer X series would also be a good replacement (the newer the better) honestly, right now i want to replace my F900 so bad because i dont even listen to XM any more, its pretty much just pandora and not having AD2P for streaming is killing me. but I'm having a hard time dropping that kind of cash right now to replace a an expensive radio (far cooler hobbies taking up cash) so im heavily leaning towards ditching the nav and getting a AVH X3500bhs, the interface is so clean and modern, it looks great, then i can have my pandora inte

i believe that the firmware on the iphone is too new for the F700, i have seen a lot where an ipod or iphone will work until after a certian update hits the device and then it will stop recognizing it (but it will recognize other older ipods) since your classic works fine, its not a problem with the cable... if you are running the newest firmware for the AVIC then I'm not sure if there is anything that can be done.

well since best buy installed it, they have a lifetime warranty. take it back to them and let them figure it out. if you really want to figure it out on your own, take it apart and use a meter to see if the ACC wire is actually staying on (the car is telling the radio to stay on all the time) or if the ACC wire is shutting off and the avic is staying on all by itself (which i think is a hardware problem because i dont think this is anything the software has any control of). once you know whether the car or the radio is broken, you'll know what needs to be replaced. also with GM cars

for starters, too many people are having problems using a basic install part. worse case scenario wiht messing that up is that the bypass doesnt work. if you have a problem or mess something up flashing the firmware, you can brick your system up.

well now that the new models are out, and based off of pioneers past track record, I would never expect them to release a part to make a two year old system work with brand new technology, pioneer would much rather sell you a new nav system. that and pioneer is probably putting 100% of their efforts in to designing next years systems so that by the time there are ready to be released, they will be 90% bug free!

well you did something wrong. first, you dont have to worry about "overloading" the ground, as neither the mute wire nor the P brake wires require any real amount of current. second, if you are having a problem exactly as the OP (video shows but stops at a certian speed) then you have a problem with the mute wire, you either dont have it pushed in all the way, its not grounded, or you moved it to the wrong spot. some models require the mute wire to be moved over one spot, some require it to me moved across to the same spot in the other row, make sure you have the right spot for you

no problem, its kinda silly that pioneer did this, as SD cards are cheap ways to store a lot of media. a very good alternative would be to just get an ipod to store videos on, that you could access from the touch screen but watch on the rear monitor. dont even have to be a lot of money, you could always buy an older used ipod for cheap, then just leave it in the glove box connected. also jeff, i have not seen any one yet modify their system for this functionality, my bet would be that it is a hardware issue and not software, so it probably cant be done by just adjusting th

as mentioned, these units will not output SD videos to auxiliary monitors.

there is one work around i have found for video output of a 700 series. to do this, any/all videos must come from an Ipod. where the video RCA from the ipod cable goes in to the radio, you can split it off to extra monitors and the avic. is it perfect solution, no. does it at least give you some functionality from the equipment you already have, yes sorry, that is incorrect. the F700 did not have a DVD player, therefor it doesnt need a video output(by Pioneers thoughts). the F900 and F90 did have a DVD player, and did have a video output connector for hooking up extra monito
