  1. I have the same question. Last year Pioneer was releasing updates every 6 months, but I haven't seen anything since Sept '09. Do we know if anything is planned for this year?
  2. I had similar experience as everyone else...only needed 1 retry and it went smooth. I don't think much has changed besided the new version of CE and the maps. The navigation speed is faster thanks to the new version of CE and the signs for highway driving are nice thanks to the new maps. But everything else seems to be the same. The unreliable connection to iPOD still hasn't been fixed and I have noticed that the playback with the SD card seems to be worse. If I turn on the random feature, then it takes forever to switch songs. The interface for the SD music/video is still crappy Hop
  3. Does anyone know how to interpret all of the new colors on the 3.0 maps? I see interstates show up as blue, main roads seem to be orange or green and small streets are grey. Also, I noticed that sometimes sections of the map are a light shade of yellow or grey. Thanks, Rick
  4. Nevermind...this thing just started disconnecting again. Damn...thought I was on to something.
  5. Not sure if I am on to something but I have noticed something very interesting with the iPod and VR catalog. I own an F700 with an iPod 120gb classic. I have only owned the 2 for about 2 months so not a lot of time but some interesting findings. I only do VR update when I add/delete songs, otherwise it's always off. A couple of weeks ago I added some new songs but forgot to do the VR update. My iPod wouldn't connect about every third or forth time I would turn on my truck and I would have to unplug/plug in the USB to get the connection back. It did this for about a week and then I realiz
  6. I had the same problem...I am an iPod noob..make sure, on the ipod, you have the video settings set to video out.
  7. Yes, go to the av settings and change av2 to video. The screen will be black (as long as you have the video bypass mod). Just hit the map button and the map will be displayed and the audio will still play.
  8. I would go with the F700. It will do everything you want and it's a lot cheaper than the F90 & F900. I bought my new F700 for $390 with shipping and no tax. Seems to be the going rate for it. I just bought mine about 2 months ago and the only compaints is the startup time.
  9. You can buy a cable that has RCA on 1 end and 3.5mm jack on the other. I bought mine at Walmart for like $7. You will need the special cable for AV2. I have seen them online for $20 or if you have a video recorder, that cable might work. I have a Samsung video recorder and it came with a cable that works with AV2. I use this with my Moto Q9m for Pandora too. Doesn't sound that great but it works.
  10. I just had the 700 installed on my 2002 Sport Trac 2 weeks ago with the metro dash kit and it looked like crap. The kit recessed the radio like 2 inches and you cannot get your fingers around the volume knob. Like mentioned in a previous post, the radio won't slide through the dash unless you completely cut out the plastic edges. I was able to push the radio forward so it doesn't look too bad but the trim piece that comes with the kit doesn't fit the radio correctly so it still doesn't look that good. I just ordered the Pioneer ADTVA133 Double Din Install Kit, I know it's not for F series
