  1. I had a hunch and confirmed it yesterday. Maybe this is obvious, but you need to have music on your iphone for it to show up as the ipod icon. I had a fresh install of iOS 6.0 and iOS 4.1 with no music and I could not get the icon to display. I had to use AV1 set to video instead which was annoying. To me, it should detect it as the iPod either way. Kind of dumb in my opinion, but most people probably have music on their phone. Mystery solved. I'm actually loving 4.1 on my 3GS again. It's quick! Love how the new iOSs make you feel like it's time to upgrade your phone. Kinda convenien
  2. When you set AV1 to video mode, you can play everything that way, right? Just no ipod connection anymore?
  3. It gives me the warning about the unsupported accessory and makes a connection ding noise, so it's connecting. I can use it just fine through the AV1 set to video. It just won't see it as an ipod anymore...
  4. As I mentioned before, my upgrade to iOS 5.1.1 broke the integration to my AVIC700bt. I no longer get the ipod icon and have to use AV1 instead set to video. I upgraded to 6.0, same problem. I rolled all the way back to 4.1, same problem. Has anyone had the ipod icon disappear in the music source screen even when the ipod was connected and you had AV1 set to ipod? I'm starting to wonder if this is tied to something else, or if apple did something unreversible to my phone such that something underlying the OS is now upgraded. My baseband is 5.16.07, but I'm not sure what that means. Mayb
  5. Are you able to still use Pandora and get it to even show in the audio sources? I just reloaded my iPhone 3GS to 5.1.1 yesterday and this morning it won't show as a device on my AVIC f700bt. I can connect to it via bluetooth, but that's it so far. Anyone having the same problem? It was working with 5.0.1. This sucks! I started trying to roll the phone back to 4.3.x, but I'd rather not if I don't have to. Plus, it hasn't been too cooperative thus far...
  6. Worked like a charm. Thanks OP!
  7. Your response was pretty much useless. Please don't respond if you can't contribute. You have no idea how long I looked through the forum prior to posting, nor do you know what keywords I was using and to what extent the resultes were useful, so please leave your editorial comments out. Networking: After spending another day or so poking around the forums, it sounds like some paths have been gone done without success (yet), but it looks doable. Wireless SD, bluetooth, or USB tethering look like the current options that haven't been confirmed nor ruled out. I think wireless or USB woul
  8. Ok, how about using ActiveSync with a laptop? Speed sensitive volume?
  9. I'm just getting into the hacks section now that I've finally buttoned up my interior, including my backup cam. Has anyone gone down the road, or attempted network connectivity? One sweet setup would have the AVIC tethered to my jailbroken iPhone either using the USB connection, or a SD/USB wireless adapter. The next thought would be to get traffic updates or widgets (weather, ?). I don't understand the mapping software just yet, so is there any chance of overlaying traffic data? I'm assuming there is since they use MSN Direct to do similar in the F90 series? Has anyone else pulled
  10. Yeah, that sounds consistent with what I've seen. My video podcast fills the screen fine, but an SD version does not scale at all. I tried to use the WMV converter to make the video larger, but it didn't seem to want to do that. I'll have to check out some other programs. I really wish there was just a way to resize it on the unit, but apparently the video from SD must already be near maxing out the unit. I'm sure upscaling may be too much...
  11. Ok, now I'm really confused. I have now gone through the manual as well as my previous internet searches, and I'm still not finding an answer. Does this just work for everyone?
  12. I have some videos that are from my Tivo in WMV format, and the resolution is 280x160 or something close to that. When I copy to SD and play on my F700, it plays it in native size using about 1/4 of the total screen. Is there a way to stretch the image to fit the screen? I don't see a button on the video page, and I don't see it under a/v settings.
