avic f models work finw with out vss. i have one in an 05 malibu and in my 09 colorado and both work perfect. on fords you should be able to crab both @ the harness if it has the 36 pin harness.

ihone 3g is 5volt connect which pioneer supports. i talked with pioneer today and there getting ready to do a software update again. i talk with the tech in japan at least every other month. 3.0 is comming. fixes some bt issues and the ipod problem.

the bypass takes 5 min if that its just moving the mute wire. no biggie. not like on sone of the z where you had to soder 2 points or anything like that. for warranty dont send the harnesses in. easy money.

WHICH I PONE ARE YOU USING AND WHAT SOFTWARE?

as far as i know from talks with apple, there is and excuse the spelling, an authincation chip in the actual apple cable. i tried a pac ic-av2 on my home tv to get video out and didnt work. used the appl cable with my 32g touch and got a video signal. im tellin you it something in the cable. if all else fails apple is great on returns so if it dosent work you have nothing to really loose excep some time. i will test it on a 90bt when i do an install later today.

the pioneer ipod cable is junk. there was an engineerproblem with it. swap it out for the componet ipod video cable from apple. same price. it will allow video also with iphone and touch cause it has the proper chip in it. make sue you get the one that has the usb connection.

also the apple cable will also allow for video out of an iphone or ipod touch.

the al and eds in hunnington does the install for 150.00 with the bypass for video in motion no shit. the also will price match circuit city going out of business sale price for a 90bt @ 650 when circuit has it for 900bt for plus 29.99 for ipod cable. 90 bt comes with the ipod cable. it a smoking deal and they honor 2yr warranty instore.

the usb connector is a common problem with this unit. try swaping out the cable and make sure your ipod has the latest update. seen this problem several time and pioneer is re-enginnering the cable to fix it. it a common problem.

update the firm ware of the phone threw htc/support.com. it takes about 30 min and erases everything off the phone. even with out jetware it will work. pioneer uses a parrot chip in the system. just remember to back-up all files, contact and apps befor you do this. or wait for 3.0 software to come out. pioneer claims it will main improve boot speed and bt compatibility. also make sure the phone is discorable before you try to pair it.
