  1. I have noticed a few companies are making a trucker specific systems. Most noticeably Garmin has came out with a Nuvi 465t that has a build in preloaded NTTS Breakdown Directory that has all truck restrictions including allowed truck routes, low bridges, weight restrictions as well as all truck stops and truck repair shops across US. I was wondering if anyone tried to incorporated something like this into the AVIC? Is there a mod that contains all the NTTS data that can just be implemented into the unit? I am a former driver, and still have many friends who are drivers, this would be something
  2. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Pioneer can refuse any warranty claim on a unit that shows it was tampered with or if the software was compromised in any way. In the box with the unit I purchased there was a pamphlet titled Important Information. Specifically on page 4 is the License Agreement. Most of us have seen this with other software we purchased and may have just ignored what it says. Here's a portion of it below: 1) Grant of License Pioneer grants you a non-transferable, non exclusive license to use the software installed on the Pioneer products (the "Software") and
  3. Thanks for all the advice. My main concern is (since I don't have much to loose with this unit) weather there are any disclosures or warning in Pioneer books as far as modifying their software and what or any legal effects it can have. I am not worrying about them refusing to honor the warranty as much as for them coming after me with some sort of penalties or suits? Am I just being a paranoid freak or am I on to something legit?
  4. I am just worried if they have some kind of legal disclaimers regarding changing their software and would they legally do something to me?
  5. Yea, I would love to do that but I can't. My touchscreen is not working so I cannot do any modifications to the system right now, agghhh
  6. This might be a dumb question but I am sending my F500BT back to Pioneer in Ohio to get it repaired after spending some time one the phone with them and realizing they need to take a look at it. I have done a few mods to the unit like adjusting some graphics, adding a few things here and there including bypassing the 16 mph rule. I am woundering if it is OK to send the unit as is or after finding the mods that are done to it they will refuse to honor the warranty, or even worst get me in some kind of legal trouble?
  7. Could not find this problem mentioned anywhere. I have used the F500BT for about 4 month with no problems. All of a sudden a couple of days ago it froze on me while I was driving. I rebooted it, and the touch screen does not want to work. Well, the funny thing is it lets me touch one time on the initial 3 option screen, then it shows me the warning screen, and I cannot press the OK button. One time yesterday it let me press the OK button but not further. It showed me the map, everything seems to work properly, my previous destination is still there and it is directing me there. The buttons on
  8. Guys, I downloaded a CSV file from POI factory, it has almost 2000 entries, AVIC FEEDS only allows a max of 300. Is there a direct way to copy this CSV file into my F500? If there is where would I find the folder in which I should drop this file into on my comp or in test mode on win CE in my Navi. Thanks
  9. Grounding the light green parking break wire will do the trick. Thanks Freddy. Great, I grounded the green wire. Changed the Data from 16 to 128 (thanks Boris) and it works great. AWESOME!
  10. Will this Speed Cam Mod work on the F500? Anyone?
  11. I am a new F500 owner, tried a few code changing mods yesterday and the system would not start up, on the bottom the "staring device, please wait" or similar message did not go away after 10 min so I had to put back the correct backup file and it's back to normal. I am wondering if most of the mods stated in this forum only work on the in-dash 700s and 900s and not on the 500s. Can anyone confirm that, and if it's true, maybe link a thread that talks about which mods actually work on the 500, that would be SWEET!

  13. Where is the Data.zip file located on windows CE? I couldn't find it. How and where do I back it up?
  14. Ok, I have searched and this is the best answer I found (see info from dgurjala below my manuscript) however not being very tech savvy, someone please clarify a few things for me (unless someone can link a step by step thread the explains it for dummies like me): 1. After I download and decompress the data.zip file on my PC do I put on the SD card in the root menu? Or do I need to create a directory in my SD specifically? I already have the two files on the SD card to boot into test more, do I just put the Data.zip next to them? 2. Assuming that question #1 is answers as is, after I bo
