1. Mine has done it a couple times, but still worked the other times. I think it greys out the detour button when they arn't options available. However, the times I do get to press the detour button it says "Traffic incident unavoidable. Hope this helps, Duke
  2. Search. There was someone on here who had the same problem with his treo. He ended up updating his BT on the Treo and it works flawlessly. Duke
  3.
They show they are out of stock now...
That stinks, sorry to hear it. Guess it was a good thing I went ahead and did this while I was at work. Duke
  4.
My guess is you will be able receive calls and make calls by dialing manually, but you probably won't be able to send your contacts from the phone to the Z1, but thats just a guess.
That's probably a very good guess. I'll update you guys, it should be here Friday and I'll install on Sat. Along with fixing my PAC steering wheel controls and securing some wires behind the dash that are rattling. I just hate taking this dash apart. Duke
  5. Ok, I'm praying it does, because I just ordered both. If not you'll see me posting them for sale soon. Duke
  6.
Paste that code into the SPECIAL MESSAGES box, and put in there that Levi was the SALES ASSOCIATE that assisted you. The order has to be over $200
Darn I guess it won't work for me then. I'm just getting the bt adapter as I have everything else. Duke
  7. Hey Guys, I'm about to buy the pioneer bt adapter. However, I have a motorola i930 cell phone which I'll have to plug the jabra bt adapter into to have the phone work as a bluetooth phone. Will this be compatiable with the Pioneer bt? How can I find out? Duke
  8.
If you go to www.crutchfield.com, and order put this referral code in, you will get $20 off your purchase, and I'll get $20 off my next. I think we should all do this for each other right? I think it only works 2 or 3 times, so be sure to share your codes. Referral Code: prfh7-t9ize-87ce9 By the way, when I ordered mine they had 40 in stock, so hurry!!!
Where do you enter the referral code? I'm at the checkout screen and don't see it. Duke
  9. Thanks for the info. I have been waiting to do this and was going to wait till I could get a hold of the BT adapter but these things seem like they'll never be in stock. I might go ahead and do it because I'm having major issues with the stock sub. For some reason I'm getting static across the sub when the radio is off and on. It's sporadic and then some times the sub won't do anything then others it's fine. I think it has something to do with the resistor I put it to stop the thump on startup. I'm going to put a better setup in there to stop the thump based on Ducati's advice.
  10. Well it just came it Minneapolis/St. Paul in the past two years and I have to say it's not all that impressive. I mean it only works on the highways near the cities. On those highways you don't know you're about to be arse deep in traffic till it happens. Out near the burbs (only 20 min out of the city) forget it, you're not going to get coverage there. Just saying how it works in my city. Most likely it'll be the same other places too. Duke
  11.

QUESTION #2: I wired the speed sensitive volume wire for the F150. How do I turn this feature on, on the headunit?
The vehicle speed wire (VSS) is not for that feature. That's not something that the Z1 does. The VSS sends a signal to the computer in the Z1 so that it knows how fast the car is going in real time, not just off of the relatively slow sampling rate from the satellites. This allows the unit to navigate using the 3D mode, giving it all of the inputs that it can have, thereby making it as accurate as possible.

    XM vs Sirius
Works well in the SF Bay Area. I read your previous posts about only getting info with the list button. I get screen and voice prompts nearly everytime I program a route. I sometimes get voice prompts too often (being sarcastic, but do I really need to know when traffic is slowing down to 45 mph in a spot on my route that is 30 miles away and always has traffic? Not so much.) One thing I have noticed is that the flashing color of the freeway is not always accurate but the little colored dots on the sides of the freeway usually are. 13. Woah you have the Z1 and the OEM HU in? How did you pull that off? Duke

    XM vs Sirius
Sorry Duke, Immediately after getting and installing the Z1 I was told I would be working 100% of the time from my home office... it's awfully difficult walking downstairs into my office rather than spending an hour or so each way in Atlanta traffic I haven't had chance to try it out for myself yet! Andy
LOL, rough life huh? I can only pull that off during non-busy season, so like three weeks out of the year. Duke

    XM vs Sirius

Cool, thanks fellas! Anyone with NavTraffic XM have good experiences with this thing? In terms of radio, it sounds like Sirius and XM are identical in price, Sirius has better programming (for me), but what about sound quality, are they the same? Some stations appear to be good on XM, which others struggle. Also, I was amazed that once I pulled into my garage I couldn't get XM satellite coverage, but the Nav coverage on the Z1 was perfect. XM vs Sirius

Ok so the XM is starting to feel like a complete waste of money. 1. The NavTraffic NEVER routed me around any traffic. It only told me what was going to be there in the list format. Which, DUH, I can figure that out on my own driving in the freaking traffic. Do I have to program it to tell me how to get around the crap? I mean I've read through everything and don't see where I have the option to do this. 2. Audio quality on XM radio some of the stations (I listen mostly to country) sound like you're playing a tape and not a CD or even the regular radio. I looked at the XM Status
  17.

Hello NavyGuy, I'm actually not going to fix the sub connection on the truck until I get the BT unit in. That way I can install the BT unit, fix the PAC, fix the sub connection (which is getting annoying b/c now I have static coming out of it), and then tidy up some wiring that is rattling around. However, here are some links to installing the Z1 in an F150. This is what I used and I identified each "difficulty" along the way throughout these threads. XM vs Sirius

Well I ordered XM last night. I got three months free radio and free activation. Then asked for three months of navtraffic. First off the people at XM are COMPLETE IDIOTs. Yes, if you're reading this and you work at the XM call center I just called you an utter moron. Call me and I'll be glad to call you plenty of other things. 1. I called from my home phone was hung up on 4 times in the middle of activation with the human activators, not the machine! 2. I asked for 3 months of navtraffic. Was told it was 3.99 a mth after the first people said 3.33 a mth and then 11.97 in activatio
  19. Hmm...so the pioneer iPOD controls that hook up for audio from your iPOD, won't work to play video? Talk about not seeing a big opportunity by pioneer. Duke

  21.
The PAC doesnt plug into the back of the HU itself, it plugs into a "headphone jack" that is on a pigtail on one of the wiring harnesses that plugs into the back of the HU
umm...do you know which harness...there is three to pick from and I'd love to know which one I'm after before hunting through the dash. It'd make sense though. I mean the hole was labled "digital out" which doesn't make sense. I mean the PAC is sending an electronic signal to the HU and it needs to recieve it, not have a port that is sending stuff out. Duke
  22. I'll double check in the z1 manual, but that was the only place the plug would fit in the back of the z1. The words "digital out" were next to the hole on the back of the z1, so that's why I called it that. I'll check that and then redo the programming. If that doesn't fix it, then I'll head to the CC install shop and ask for a favor. I don't have a volt meter and am really not wanting to buy one. Duke
  23. Huh? I'm talking about on the back of the Z1 headunit itself. I took the long black cord off the PAC unit that has a "headphones style connector" and plugged that into the back of the Z1 headunit. It was the white wire on the PAC unit that I tied into the light blue/red wire on the stock OEM Ford harness. I cut the light blue/red wire on the stock OEM harness that was in the middle of the plug (location and color corresponding to the diagram that PAC sent me) and then sodered the white wire from the PAC unit to the end of the light blue/red wire which ran into the wire loom of the OEM
  24. Cool, I'm going to take this picture with me to Radio Shack and buy these materials. Then I'm going to piece it together without sodering it and post it to the website for your approval before I soder it in place. PS. Anyone know if dimming the buttons on the Z1 is a feature? Or if you can tell it to take a certain road when planning a route? Thanks again, Duke
  25.

QUESTION #3: I bought the PAC SWI-PS interface and cannot get it to work. Can you help me out? Here is what I did: 1. Plugged the black PAC SWI-PS plug into the back of the headunit in the "digital out" spot on the Z1. 2. Because I have an 05 Ford F150 I used the white PAC SWI-PS interface wire and sodered it to the light blue/red wire in PIN 18 which is in the center of the connector (not to be confused with the other light blue/red wire in the OEM harness which is to the side and is used for ILL) 3. I then wired the red wire on the PA
