Sorry, got busy with getting married and moving into our new house, but I'm back. I got it working by fluke. I used Microsoft Office Picture Manager to change the size to the right size. Then I exported the picture using MOPM to export it to a .BMP. Made sure the file sizes were the same as stock and it worked! Apparently it didn't like me manually changing them to .BMP or the fact that file sizes were larger.

Wow, blast from the past.....yeah this was a joyous problem when I first had this. What a major pain in the but and I'm so glad it's over!

Anyone else with any ideas?

Loading JPEGs directly to the hard drive? It's a Z1 Unit with a aftermarket Toshiba hard drive running the Z3 image. When I put JPEGs directly onto the hard drive it doesn't even show the name on the list. I did this with some of the pictures that you guys posted here. Maybe I'll wipe out the folder and put 20 images on CD and try it that way. Its just a lot easier to load them directly.

Is there anyone willing to make me a custom background using one of the pictures below? It doesn't need to have the background these pictures have, but just incorporate the truck some how? Well I type MHDD and it pulls up the numbers 1 thru etc. With nothing listed. I press shift plus F3 and still nothing pulls up. The Toshiba drive is plugged into the adapter and then into the master cord with the adapter power plugged in. At the MHDD, I still hit #3 even though it was blank and it took me to the MHDD prompt in blue. I typed "EID" and it said "Drive not ready in red". I feel like it cannot see the drive. I am wondering if I'm having a similar problem as another guy previously who needed to update his bios. I have an Abit I35 pro mobo. Version 1

Hey Guys, Trying to turn off security on my Toshiba drive to put the z3 OS on. I have all other drives unplugged from my tower. Using the IDE adapater, the Toshiba drive is plugged into the Master ATA plug. I also have the boot disk in the CD drive. It goes through it's boot process, says no hard drive found quickly and some other text flys by. Then it goes to the MHDD prompt. So I type "EID", and it says "bad command or file name". Above that on the screen it says: "Disk Contains: list of things....... Your CD/DVD-ROM (if any) is mapped to Z: MHDD is

The obvious question is (and forgive me for asking it if you're already savvy to burning CD images correctly) "what do you see on the disc." If all you see on it is a single file -- the ISO file you burned -- then it's not burned correctly. Use ISO Recorder to burn the image to the disc as an image. What does the boot order say currently (did the changes save correctly?) does the disc boot on another system? etc...

I'm beginning to wonder if something isn't wrong with the boot CD. I used a new CD and burned the ISO to the CD that is on the link provided in the other thread. It was the download ISO for CD booting named "Magic_Boot_Disk_ISO_v2.0.iso". Was I supposed to burn it a different way?

This is coming from your BIOS, which is responsible for knowing how many drives you have in your computer, and which one to boot, among other things. If you're on a newer Dell, try pressing F12 when you see the Dell screen to enter the one-time boot menu. You should be able to select CD ROM drive to boot from CD. If that doesn't work, boot normally and when you see the error, hit F2 to enter the setup and CAREFULLY look for a manu that talks about the boot order, change it to CD, then exit and save changes. Sorry for taking awhile to respond. I got really frustrated and gave up.

Hey Guys, Well I finally got the IDE adapter in. I burned the MHDD ISO file to a CD and put it in the dell tower. I also have the dell Western Digital hard drive unplugged and then the Toshiba drive plugged in. I'm getting the following error message which isn't documented anywhere on here "strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for the setup utility" I can't figure out what is going on here. Any help? Duke

Well it's the Toshiba 60GB hard drive that everyone here is using. I have the USB black plug connector but that doesn't allow me to plug the computer connector into the other side. The desktop only took IDE drives and the other two laptops had completely different looking pins (Dell Inspiron 8000 and another Dell)

Hey Guys, I have the new drive that I'm going to use for the Z1 to z2 upgrade. I've been sitting on the project and putting it off because I'm swamped with looking to buy a house. However, I'm going to punch this project out this week. My problem is this: I've tried on every computer/laptop within my reach to plug in the new hard drive (the suggested one everyone is using...name escapes me) and none of the connectors are the same. I need to plug the hard drive in to turn off the security lock so the z1 doesn't immediately lock my drive causing it to be impossible to unloc

I'm thinking this uncompressed state has something to do with a version or the different computers. Something is not right. I've downloaded it two separate times and both times all 9 zip files equal 8.45 GB and not 9.4. However, each file separately is identical to what was posted here as the "supposed to be" size. I just did a drag and drop. The rar files are identical to what was posted. My only difference is in the post un rar size. I think I'll just try the image that way. I just have to disable security by loading drive with the boot disk and then download a free partition tool to open up the 3rd partition for more music storage. I'm also going to check on changing the boot screen.

Hey Guys, I have all 9 .rar files downloaded. I then ran the win rar and now have an 8.8 GB .tib file as apposed to the 9.4 GB .tib file. My .rar files 1-8 are all 1,024,000 kb (.97 GB). The 9th file is 670,760 kb (655 mb). What is wrong here? Duke

I would. I've read two other posts from guys who tried the 7200 but keep getting reboots. They think it's due to the extra power consumption as to why they both get reboots every 10 minutes.

So you really need all 9 parts that are on the FTP server? They all look to have the exact same .tib file in them.
