  1. Does not work, I think because it is a CAN Bus, it requires a CAN BUS Adapter... Why do you want it anyway?
  2. Why in gods name does it cost as much to unlock a drive as it does to buy a new 40GB toshiba?
  3. After much trepidation, I finally went ahead with the Upgrade... I used a used 80GB Toshiba drive, Acronis true image and then Disk Director 10 expand the MSV volume and now have a 50 GB Music partition!!! Next I want to try a 7200RPM drive to see if it is faster. I can already tell this 5400 RPM drive is better than the stock drive. Anyone have a 7200 RPM drive and can say it is any faster?
  4. Worked in an install shop for a while, they would just hookup a charger to the unit while they did the install if it does take that long, you can put a battery charger on set it for 2 amps, and it won't drain down at all.
  5. My other car is a Mini, the stock head unit does have an option for a IPOD interface, it is a dealer part, about 150 bucks.
  6. Just burn a CD with a pitures folder and you can pull in any JPEG to use for each contact. I did it and now all 20 contacts in my address book have pictures associated with them.
  7. I tried it and came up with the same thing you did. But I noticed, the number must match the number in your phone book exactly... So if the number in your avic phone book for home is (908)-555-1212 and you get a call from home it shows up as 9085551212 with no dashes etc it has to match, so you need to update your phonebook on the Z1 to match the incomming number. It worked for me, I setup 3 pictures on 3 of my address book entries,a nd all 3 now show a new picture.
  8. [quote name="ImolaVirus"]I've got the Z1 in my 2000 S4. Physically the install was pretty straight forward, but you really do have to bypass the stock amps and replace the door speakers if you have the Bose system, since it doesn't play nice with anything else but itself. I found that replacing the door speaks was really hard to do, since the Bose speaks are of some very strange proportions and 2ohm. So, I used the stock speakers, and utilized an amp that was 2 ohm stable, and it sounds great. If you've done a few installs in the past, then I'd say go ahead and do it, but plan it out, first. I
  9. pretty sure it is not posible, I have had a Q for some time on V, and tried it, to no avail.

    Z2 Announced

It used to be. Yah, some of us even pre-ordered it for that price But as whtcrxghst said, everything keeps getting cheaper. Just the law of the land. I remember paying $3000 for my 286 PC. No one would pay that anymore I bet you bought the same shitty Radio Shack 286 I did...
  11. Here is a response to my question to Pioneer... Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics, Inc. As of right now we don't have an update available for the Z1, however there is an update coming out fairly soon. We don't have an ETA but I would recommend to check with us periodically. 800-421-1404 Thank You, Ramon Customer Service Representative
  12. I took part in the Focus group Pioneer had, but I have heard nothing since.
  13. I May try to cover this new kit to see how it would look.. But if you saw it in person it looks better than before.
