  1. Update: For anyone afraid their Palm Pre is gonna have problems pairing with the F-Series: Picked up my Palm Pre Plus yesterday and was able to pair it nicely with both my F700BT and my F90BT. Just have to follow the normal pairing procedure on the AVIC and the Pre. Has paired effortlessly since and seems to be working just like my Centro. Makes me happy.
  2. I have also seen this problem one time way back last year when I upgraded my factory speakers to Polk DB's. During install I wasn't able to use the factory speaker plugs that plugged right into the factory speakers and Crutchfield had no adapter so I had to tap into the original speaker wires which was not any big deal. But I hadn't left quite enough wire to allow me to route the wire properly, so I had to stretch it a little and it was rubbing against the metal on the door. Apparently it shorted for a very brief moment and that was enough to produce what you are seeing with the weird boo
  3. I've had my Centro paired and working perfectly since February last year on both a 700BT and 90BT. I'm still using version 2.0 software with WinCE updated to 3.0 in the background--but it worked before I updated the WINCE also. One thing I've found with bluetooth pairing on the initial pairing of my Palm Centro was that after you go through the pairing process, if you don't think it paired successfully and it may not appear to have paired, simply make a phone call while in bluetooth range of your AVIC and it will then pair. If you don't make that phone call right after you do this it appea
  4. Thank you, thank you SK360--it was the hacked ezrider I failed to remember. It now works and I've restored my datazip and mods (except Guga's theme mod-which I'll have to figure out where I put all that stuff again). Seems that the button pushes are snappier--but I'm not sure yet--just relieved to be back up and running since I'm one of those that has really enjoyed this unit-warts and all.
  5. Uh-oh. Followed the directions to update WinCE posted here and it seemed to work until I booted up my F700BT and now the system startup sceen remains. I can access my radio and SD music and my backup camera works but can't get the navi functions to work since it tells my to wait for system startup in progress. I attempted to restore my last backed up and working flash disk and that didn't work. Attempted to reload the default backed up flash disk I had and that didn't fix it. I just now thought I'd load the firmware update 2.006 thinking surely this would fix it--but it didn't. I think I may
  6. Fixed!! I had made a backup of my 'modded up' and working "My Flash Disk" from a couple of weeks ago once I got my unit where I wanted it. I simply copied over the APL and APL2 Folders from this backup and booted my F700BT up and Samantha's back and all is well. Can't underestimate the value of having backups of working and original "My Flash Disk" files. Also don't know why the problem happened to begin with-but I'm just gonna have to disconnect my Ipod every time I shut down to eliminate any USB boot up issues (Windows CE-sigh). I've also found it to be more stable booting
  7. All has been well for a few months now with my F700BT in my 06 Nissan Frontier. I've got GTiMatt's mod and have a few small mods generally mixed in and have had a very stable unit that I'm very happy with (until now). Got around to buying an Ipod Nano 16GB just for my two vehicles that I've installed these F-series in (other unit is in my other truck (F90BT) and is working fine). Also finally got around to upgrading the stock speakers in this Frontier with Polk DBs that I finished installing last night. Drove off to the store all was fine--Ipod hooked up and sounding wonderful as well

  9. I have struggled with how the F series sorts the music and video folders on my F700BT and my F90BT for the month and a half that I've owned them. Has always seemed random sometimes and alphabetical other times. So--of course I decided a while back to number my folders or files that I wanted to sort my way. Well--even that didn't seem to work. Some music/videos sorted the way I wanted but other folders weren't in the order I had numbered them in. Now many of you smarter folks on here probably already figured this out--but for us slower folks--and I have a feeling I'm not alone in my s
  10. Lot's of info for your GMC truck and the AVIC install here: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.p ... l=illmac77 And here: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.p ... =blackgold And more stuff at that forum if you search and also check out the Audio/Video Electronics forum there as well as the Full Size Truck and SUV forum. It fits cause I've got an F90BT in my 08 Silverado. Was a bit of a challenge to install but lot's of information out there on doing it on the internet. Also check out this link: http://www.truckinweb.com/tech/electric ... index.html Good lu
  11. Not sure if this will solve your problem, but I was having a similar issue and I haven't got the Branded Icons but I have done some customizing of my icons per Stephanie's instructions on this forum. I've also got GTIMatt's mod but no updated maps. I had noticed a bunch of medical icons kept showing up even though when I went into the manage POI settings I selected to not display any medical icons as well as all the subcategories. Well, tonite, after reading your thread it was bugging me so I went out to my truck and dug a little deeper and discovered that if I went into where you manage y
  12. This link may answer your question about the D3 harness vs. the F series harness. It's a thread about a fellow upgrading from a D3 to a F700BT in his Nissan Frontier. He says the harnesses were the same. http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/f24/ ... res-34420/ Hope this helps.
  13. Regarding the questions about the elevation--I had the same issue and would actually see my home's elevation listed in tenths of a mile instead of feet--ie-1200' would display as .2 nm. So--I found Maverickster's data file (Data/ui_pioneer/800_480/ui/navigatemap_800_480.ui) since he was clearly using gps elevation to display the elevation--and I found the code he used on the navigatemap_800_480.ui file and commented out GTIMatt's lines and replaced them with Maverickster's. Here's the code and it's found in the following layer: (The bold is GTIMatt's and the underlined and bold is the line
  14. Yep, that's exactly what happened to me. My mistake--not Matt's. I guess that particular font was used for the UK speed limit sign that came up when there was speed limit data. I knew it had something to do with the speed limit. Got home from trip this evening and checked to see if the transportm.ttf was in my apl2\igo folder--it was not. It is now and all is well. Thanks everyone for the help. Maybe someone else will benefit from my mistake.
  15. Thanks--will do that today and test it this evening when I get home. I'm not a computer code person or modder but this is actually kinda fun--when a person has time to do it. Thanks cmh928.
