  1. how do we get the update? did i miss something?
  2. I was under the impression you could not copy music from burned cd's onto the HDD. I tried playing a burned cd tonight after finally getting it installed and it copied the whole thing! Did i misread something? Anyone else get lucky as well???
  3. there aren't disks for the nav...it's on the hdd. from what i've heard, updates will be uploaded via dvd onto the unit's hdd to replace old info.
  4. not sure with the z1, but coming from a d1/d2 i can agree. i started out with sirius and absolutely hated it. I also noticed the sound quality wasn't even tape quality. then i went sold my sirius tuner and went xm, and everything seemed to get better. i'll have my z1 installed soon enough...i'll be posting my thoughts on the z1 with xm nav traffic asap.
  5. Alright...so i'm coming from an avic d2 where you could run a wire from the open spot in the harness to get 100% access of the unit while driving. Now i've ordered a z1 and i can't decipher what all this is. I have a brand new xterra...will i need to run the speed sensor and everything, or can i just hook it up normally *except for the speed sensor* and flash the headlights in the startup screen? I'm asking because it seemed too good to be true when the d2 cheat came out...this seems more complicated. Is it really just a matter of flashing the headlights on startup??? (i hope!)
  6. A while back i was invited to tell the people from pioneer what i thought about the avic d2...we sat around the table and spat out opinions for an hour or two and then when we were leaving, one of the tech guys came out and asked us if we wanted to know how to disable the gyro sensor without damaging anything internally. He basically explained that all you need to do is run a short length of wire from the empty slot on the power harness (it's the only one...20 total and 19 are filled before you do this). Pretty easy...and pretty awesome. Now i can run the nav full scale without having to pull
