  1. I am all set thanks, I just needed to drive more. I did hook up the vss when I installed it I just got impatient and didn't wait long enough for it to calibrate, DUH.... Thanks for the info though I appreciate it. Shruggerx
  2. Hey, I just installed my Z1 and I am inlove, everything worked great at first but after I started up and drove around and shut the car off when I started it up again the compass directions were gone from my Vehicle info page, the MPH is still there the clock is still there, and it will give me acceleration, but it says info not available for the other functions, like direction. Do I need to just drive longer with it until it gets aclimated to my car and the GPS location? I only drove for like 5 minutes just to see if everything worked. Thanks ShruggerX
  3. Your may be white and nerdy but you are very helpful.....thanks
  4. Thanks man you rock..... I really appreciate it.
  5. I have a 2004 wrx, and my vehicle specific wiring harness comes with a black ground wire in the harness, so in essence I had 2 unconnected ground wires ( the one from the Z1 and the one from the WRX wiring harness) that I figured would need to be connected together to keep that ground going. Was that a bad idea??????? With this single ground you refer to are you talking about just attaching one of the wires, that needs to be grounded, to the chassis, or attaching the Ground from the Z1 to the chassis and just having the ground coming from the wiring harness be used for the other item
  6. Hey Guys, I know there are posts out there with the answers to these but I need to make sure I am not going to destroy my new avic z1 (very bad). Bypassing an October '06 Z1 1) To ground the parking break wire: Vampire clip it to the black ground wire coming out of my WRX wiring harness. 2) To ground the "cell mute wire", Pull it out and put it in the lower right corner of the avic wiring harness and vampire clip it too the same black ground wire from the wiring harness. OR attack it to a bolt that is directly in contact with the metal chassis. 3) Final Question
  7. Hey ... Let me know if I did this right.. my antenna is the kind that is embedded in the glass like the rear defroster.
