  1. You know what... i think you guys are right, must be the partial startup. Made sure I start the car right up the last 6 times i've started it now and it hasn't happened a single time. Good catch guys, thanks! Going to try and get the italian forums UI tweaks added to mine. If I get it all working, I'll post up an addon zip that ryar can add if he wants..
  2. So I finally got around to installing Ryar's version of AvicNet 2.1. Here are my comments in comparison to the Italian version: - Set up was smooth, no need to flip languages, etc. - Pre-configured for NA units so I didn't have any bluetooth issues to resolve after installing it - No issue with accessing music on the SD card, worked perfectly. I never resolved this with the italian verison. - Has better gps customization/hacks however I'm really not a fan of the fonts and icon layout but this is a personal preference and can be changed. - Missing carver's hack for the Tel.exe whic
  3. Thanks for the reply, Ryar. I'll give it a shot tonight. XM is in \DATA\XM. I thought there was a Sirius folder too but looking at a full backup I had there isn't. The Sirius integration on these things is so garbage, no channel icons, nothing. Really regretting giving my brother my XM adapter and switching to Sirius haha.
  4. Thanks Ryar, I'll give it a shot. Hopefully it solves the SD card issue I'm having. Few questions: 1) Is the uploaded version defaulted to NA setup? ie: is the sys.txt for the "UC" version? 2) Are the XM files and VBT files included? 3) Are you using an F900BT? If not, which model? Thanks!
  5. No dice with the device.nng being the issue with the SD card. Removed it, restarted the unit, it was recreated, same issue. Tried another SD card, still the same issue. I went through the entire My Flash Disk and I do not see any folders named "PLT". I found a zip I had of a 3.0 update, and it looks like the PLT folder was just a folder in the update that contained the WinCE upgrade images. So basically the guy in the thread I referenced above just reloaded the "My Flash Disk" a few times and it worked. Back to the drawing board to find the root cause. I have one suspicion again
  6. They're over at the Italian forums: http://pioneernavgate.blogfree.net/?t=3453274 The links to the 3 .rar's were also posted a few posts above somewhere...
  7. I found this thread and someone who seems to have addressed the issue: http://avic411.com/i...post__p__146018 I'm not sure I fully understand what he did. Seems to basically not have upgraded the "PLT" folder. EDIT: I really don't know what this "PLT" folder is. I don't see it in the AvicNet files. Any idea what it is? PMS: Did you delete the device.nng file from your sd card after the update? Apparently it's a file that identifies your device. I'm wondering if it doesn't need to be recreated (which happens automatically if its not found) based on the new firmware versio
  8. Success!!!!!!! It looks like the bluetooth problem is because of the model mismatch between sys.txt and the unit. I copied the sys_746UC.txt file to sys.txt in \apl2\igo (backing up existing sys.txt) and reloaded the flash disk (probably not required but i had messed around with the bluetooth dlls and tel.exe and wanted a fresh start). The unit started up, did some stuff, rebooted, did it again, rebooted again and all the AvicNet submenus were in english by default. Then just had to change the avic system settings to english. Went into the phone settings, went to bluetooth update, and
  9. So I just found a few things that point to the issue with the bluetooth being related to an issue with the sys.txt being the EU version. I found this thread that outlines a workaround: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/19687-bluetooth-software-missing/ Looking at the my flash disk files from avicnet2.1, the sys.txt is for the euro model. I'm going to try flipping it to the US model and then attempt to reload the bluetooth software. Will report back tomorrow...
  10. Maybe just try it again? I wiped my flash disk and I ended up just using the included english DATA.zip from the AvicNet package, did it from scratch, and when I started it up I was able to select the language. Seems that initial startup may be buggy. Everything except Bluetooth is working now. I'm going to try again this weekend to get the Bluetooth going. I read in a few threads about some config file that identifies your F900 as being NA or Euro or whatever. I'm going to try and flip it to NA (if its not already) and then try to install the bluetooth update from the pioneer site aga
  11. Thanks Blankers. Did you also install the WinCE update that disables the gyro or did you skip that? I also tried replacing the Tel.exe and the parrot bluetooth dll's from the 4.001 hybrid and it doesn't make a difference. Still no bluetooth version, still can't update it either.
  12. So reloading AvicNet 2.1 did the trick. Got the menus in English now and everything is working except my Bluetooth. Wont find my phone, phone won't find the F900. Tried with another phone to be sure, same deal. When I check the Bluetooth software version, it says no software found in the version. I downloaded the 3.3 update from pioneer's site and when I try to upgrade it, it fails saying an error has occurred. I saw a few suggestions in the forum here, none of which worked: 1) Tried deleting \user\userdata\igo\save and \user\userdata\setup -- didn't work 2) Tried deleting all of \u
  13. Also having bluetooth issues, phone won't pair. I read in another thread here to delete some bluetooth config file and try and re-pair devices. Going to give that a shot if I still have issues after reloading AVICNet. Will post back my results..
  14. Thx for the info. Yeah, it looks like he just took credit for the OBD thing. In the fine print of his post he thanks Avic411. Just a note, for anyone wanting to try the italian version, DO NOT use the DATA.zip I posted. I messed up the packaging and had to fix it. I'll upload the correct one tonight. On that note, I may give the Russian one a try. After installing the italian one, I can't get the AVIC Net menu in English. Even though my language is English, I updated the regional settings in control panel to English, all the menu items are still in Italian. Not sure what happene
  15. Looks like AVIC NET 2.1 is out on the italian forum and this time it's multilanguage and is based on the 4.0 firmware and has all of carver's patches included along with ryar's tweaks also. Here is the link (you must be registered): http://pioneernavgat....net/?t=3453274. The rar's are password protected, and you need to PM the poster on that site (bagua) for the password. After using google translate to translate and read the thread, it looks like someone on there had posted the password in the thread and he wasn't too happy. So I'm not going to be the one to do that here. If you wa
