  1. If all else fails pull your gauge cluster.Very easy unless you have the crappy factory boost gauge.

Pull steering wheel down to lowest setting, deinstall 2 screws above gauges & pull gauge cluster cover out.deinstall 4 screws holding gauge cluster to dash.pull gauge cluster out of dash & find wire colors listed above. It should be the green/yellow at gauge cluster.

Your pic is a tad blurry.

  2. Speed Sense

    green/yellow or green/black

    ECM below glove box

On the non-turbo models the vss is in pin 12 of the 35 pin plug. On the turbo models the vss is in pin 13 of the 35 pin plug. On the STi models the vss is in pin 26 of the 35 pin plug. The vss wire is also found behind the instrument cluster.

Count pins & check for wire colors above.

You're only supposed to use the stylus for calibrating the touchscreen. Don't tell her, but it looks like your wife has been doing it right all this time

My concern is my wifes finger nails & she refuses to use the stylist that came with the D3.

Is there any pics of this item installed on to an avic some one could post up?

    ECM

The ECM (Engine Control Module) is located below the heater box to the right of the accelerator pedal, behind trim panel. The VSS is in the 2nd row from the top, 4th pin right of center of the plug.

  6. I have had a few nav units & I always end up going back to an AVIC.By far its the best nav for the price plus you can do a search by phone number.I love this feature when I am staying at a hotel & I do a quik search in the phone book for a place to eat.I enter the phone # & we are off heading to the place we have chosen.

    I have owned,

    AVIC-N1,N3,Z1,Z2 & Now A D3.

I will more than likley be installing the new N4 in my Mini Cooper S.
