  6. I didn't realize he had hacked into his HDD & installed these. I thought that these were there & just pop up in 3d mode when your in a bigger city.My Z2 would only go into 3d map mode in Seattle or Tacoma. I live in Wenatchee.it doesn't do it here. Sorry that I am not as smart as some of you posters & sorry about the high jack of the post. joe r
  7. Wow I don't think I ever noticed the sun or moon on my Z2.I almost want to pull it out of the box & power it up just to check these out. Thanks for the pics. joe r

  9. Middle plug its the big plug.Thats on my wifes 04 Forester XT. joe r
  10. Yes as soon as you start to drive it will change speed pulse on screen. I grabbed my wifes 04 Forester XT speed sensor wire at the gauge cluster & it was yellow/green wire. Also if you pull the gauge cluster make sure you don't power up the car with it unplugged or you might get an abs/airbag or check eng light. joe r
  11. Also don't get mad we will get you thru this! If need be pm me & I can send you my cell # to chat. joe r
  12. If all else fails pull your gauge cluster.Very easy unless you have the crappy factory boost gauge. Pull steering wheel down to lowest setting, deinstall 2 screws above gauges & pull gauge cluster cover out.deinstall 4 screws holding gauge cluster to dash.pull gauge cluster out of dash & find wire colors listed above. It should be the green/yellow at gauge cluster. Your pic is a tad blurry. joe r
  13. Speed Sense green/yellow or green/black ECM below glove box On the non-turbo models the vss is in pin 12 of the 35 pin plug. On the turbo models the vss is in pin 13 of the 35 pin plug. On the STi models the vss is in pin 26 of the 35 pin plug. The vss wire is also found behind the instrument cluster. Count pins & check for wire colors above. joe r
  14. Or tap it & drive around the block.Your z2 only is a reciever. But yes you can use your multi meter & test it also. joe r

  16. That I am not sure about. The info I posted was from Directed.I would test the wire you have & see if it works for you as you are stating that is what SUbaru told you. If not count on the other side of the plug & see if you find the colors I posted if the red/white wires is not good. joe r
  17. No worries thats what I am here for. Yes pull up yoru pass floor carpet & your ecy is right there.I believe there are 2 plugs but one of them is only a 35 pin plug. joe r
  18. Speed Sense green/yellow or green/black ECM below glove box On the non-turbo models the vss is in pin 12 of the 35 pin plug. On the turbo models the vss is in pin 13 of the 35 pin plug. Speed Sense dk. green/black ECM The ECM (Engine Control Module) is located below the heater box to the right of the accelerator pedal, behind trim panel. The VSS is in the 2nd row from the top, 4th pin right of center of the plug. Joe r
  22. I have had a few nav units & I always end up going back to an AVIC.By far its the best nav for the price plus you can do a search by phone number.I love this feature when I am staying at a hotel & I do a quik search in the phone book for a place to eat.I enter the phone # & we are off heading to the place we have chosen. I have owned, AVIC-N1,N3,Z1,Z2 & Now A D3. I will more than likley be installing the new N4 in my Mini Cooper S. joe r
  23. I have also noticed that its always better to program the SWC unit with the vehicle running. Also tech support says to do it also. joe r
  24. My concern is my wifes finger nails & she refuses to use the stylist that came with the D3. Is there any pics of this item installed on to an avic some one could post up? joe r
