  1. did you extract it to the desktop first?
  2. My 100GB won't cold boot either.. same issue. Mine is powered properly, and I formatted it with the Windows CE disk management, also trying 32KB cluster sizes previously. I think it's a problem with recognizing certain volume sizes upon boot in Windows CE.. I'm not sure though. It would be nice if someone found a fix. But yes, it does work fine once the unit is booted and I re-plug it. For reference, I'm using a 100GB hard drive. At the moment I have a little over 17GB of music, and 28GB of TV shows on it. I'm adding more and more every day. I have around 165GB of music but haven't loaded
  3. The easiest most reliable way is the hardware bypass. 1. Move the mute wire ( like you said you already did ) 2. Ground the mute wire and parking brake wire with the radio's ground 3. Plug everything in and you're done
  4. Very nice. Thank you for all your hard work.
  5. Stock pictures are fine. We could just load up our own images.
  6. Windows 7 Visual Theme by wiretap This is my first theme. I used Guga's theme as a base to start from, then modified a lot of it. I didn't really touch the iPod portion, because I don't have an iPod to plug in to check to see if it looks proper. I'll be making some updates to it as people give feedback. I plan on doing WMP style buttons on the play/pause/next/prev buttons. Hopefully I can have some more updates later. You should be aware of how to install these items and take all necessary precautions by backing up your AVIC head unit before applying these mods. I'm not responsible fo
  7. eww.. those are JPEG's with horrible artifacting due to being low quality with high compression. You need high quality PNG icons to use for making your graphics. Here's some iPhone ones in good quality 1000x1000 PNG: http://walrick.deviantart.com/art/openP ... e-56014501
  8. Take your time. Making something look right should be top priority.
  9. No, it's not. I have mine properly powered. I made tutorial on how to do it here... viewtopic.php?f=34&t=24072
  10. Ok awesome. I'm actually working a theme right now as well. I'm just learning how everything is placed right now, so it's all a big experiment/clusterfuck. My theme is going to have Windows 7 & Vista icons. I don't think I'll do all the buttons and stuff, because that would take me about a month to get right, lol. I'm just using Guga's 2.0 theme, and modifying it.
  11. Any updates on being able to download this?
  12. Well, whatever you install to Windows CE can be removed via the remove programs dialog in the control panel. I don't have mobile internet on my phone or else I'd try it. Well, that and I don't know if it could possibly modify crucial files which the uninstaller wouldn't fix. But the possibilities that would be opened up with this (if it is indeed confirmed by more than one person) are vast. You could incorporate internet content into something like leet launcher to pull traffic, weather, mobitv, internet radio, etc.. It's sort of funny that the original poster doesn't even show any pro
  13. I've seen a couple threads where people are struggling to get 2.5'' hard drives working. This short tutorial will hopefully get everyone's problems sorted out. I have my 100GB 2.5'' drive working with my AVIC-F700BT. The drive is a 100GB Seagate 7200.1 in an aluminum generic 2.5'' SATA enclosure. Pioneer says it works with up to a 250GB drive, but I haven't tried anything larger than 100GB yet. Your experience may vary. First what you'll want to do is get proper power to your drive since the AVIC only supplies <500mA over the single USB data cable. You can find the tutorial on
  14. I received my Pioneer AVIC-F700BT today, so finally I could get my radio put in. The full install took me about 3.5 hours, and honestly, it went flawlessly. The Evo is by far the easiest car to work on. There's a ton of room.. and I mean a ton of room (behind the dash, glove box, and places to route cables). Everything snaps apart and back together really easily. I think I only had to use a philips screw driver twice. (for the dash trim piece removal, well, and the radio mounts of course) Parts: - Pioneer AVIC F700BT - Pioneer GEX-P920XM - Scosche Dash Kit - 2008+ Mitsubishi Radio Harn
  15. Yup, lots of computer systems will sort like that. It's kind of annoying. I've found batch renaming your existing songs using the 01.. 02.. 03.. naming theme helps immensely on a wide variety of computer systems, whether it be an MP3 player, car deck, software player, etc. Then in the future you know how to name properly for picky devices/software.
  16. ??? Yes, this is the car it was installed in.
  17. I felt like making a tutorial for you guys to help alleviate the power issues some people are having with getting 2.5'' hard drives to work. The AVIC unit only puts out 500mA or less of current, which isn't enough to spin up the majority of 2.5'' drives. You need to have an additional power source. You'll want to use one of these cables do to that: Ok, here we go.. the fun part. Tools needed: - Screwdrivers, sockets, or whatever else you need to take apart your car interior - Pliers - Drill - Drill bit to drill pilot holes for screws (I used 1/16'' bit) - Hole saw (I used 1''
  18. It would be much easier and less cluttered if we posted the themes in the "Graphic Design/Themes" subforum. viewforum.php?f=44
  19. Here you go, here's a simple article that explains what I'm trying to convey to you. http://www.hdtvantennalabs.com/hdtv-antenna-hype.php
  20. I take it you haven't taken a signals and systems course before. And you still don't understand what I'm saying.
  21. You contradict yourself there mate, but also what you're saying is plain wrong. Digital is digital, analogue is analogue: big difference. No, I didn't. I said the antennas are the same. They receive the same signals through them.. it's what's on the other end that matters, like a digital converter box or analog tuner.
  22. All those "HDTV antennas" or "digital TV antennas" are a gimmick marketing trick. There's no difference between those and you're old regular "analog antennas" from the 70's. They'll all receive the same signals. Some may receive that signal much better though. Do some thorough reviewing to see which one is going to work best before buying.
  23. Yeah, just snip the cord on the DC converter and hard wire it with a 5A fuse. That will be plenty for a hard drive. I dont' know what type 3.5'' drive you're using. There are some drives like the Seagate 7200.8 and above series, they pull ~3A on spin-up.
  24. I just picked up one of these to mount in my glovebox: http://www.amazon.com/Multi-Use-Car-Cha ... 036&sr=8-4 ...now all I need is my F700BT, lol. The stupid thing was on back-order so I'm canceling and re-ordering right now. But for 2.5'' drive applications, a 2A circuit is plenty. Just look at the specs of what hard drive you are using. The manufacturer usually lists what the specs on their drives are. Most of the 2.5'' drives, I've seen pull about 1.5A during write cycles. But they are operating at 5v. For your 3.5'' drive, I assume you're using the DC brick that came with
