    Bluetooth Update

I think 3.3 is the latest bluetooth version, but it is only recommended for certain phones so I'm pretty sure there aren't any sound quality or operational updates in it. It does seem like it is more likely to be a mic issue. I am happy with the call quality in mine and I am still using 2.9 firmware for BT. I use an old nokia mic that I already had and the sound quality is pretty good.
  2. I have spoken to Pioneer UK about this. They spoke to their workshop engineers who confirmed that the unit only auto-connects to the last connected phone. I pointed out that this is not what is stated in the manual, or the way most OEM and Parrot systems work, and they said would pass this on to the design team in Japan. At the very least they may correct the manual.
  3. I'm no help in the programming of a search function, but what I have done to make dialling out easier is to change my 6 most used numbers in my phone to start with numbers so that they appear on the first page. IE I just rename them 1_Fred & 2_Sue 3_John etc in the phone. This also then works when I use the phone with our other car which has an OEM Bluetooth system, which again puts these at the top of the list.
  4. I have a Sony RMX4 wired remote and do have all functions, BUT the radio preset up/down can still not be the same buttons as MP3 track up/down, they are controlled by different buttons.
  5. They are correct unfortunately. The same command that gives next track/ prev track in IPod or MP3 play mode, gives up/down frequency scan in radio mode. The command that gives up/down preset in radio mode gives FF/REW in MP3/Ipod mode. It is the definition of the button presses within the F700 itself that causes this. If you have a spare set of up/down buttons on the wheel you should be able to program them to be preset up/down but they won't/can't be the same buttons that give track up/down in Ipod/MP3 mode. Hope that makes sense. Why Pioneer set it up this way is a complete mystery, and is a
  6. What, none of them? At least mine will auto-connect, but only the last-used one. Opps Sorry! It does connect to lasted used one but does not change when I switch to different phone. Jimbo OK, so that's exactly the same as mine. The manual definitely states that it will auto-connect in order of registration. That surely means that it was meant to work down the list of registered phones until it finds one that it can connect to. This is the obvious way of doing it and also how other parrot systems and most OEM systems work. I wonder why Pioneer changed it? I am surprised this hasn't b

  8. OK, thanks I'll have a look at that. Both our phones are Nokia - one is a 6300 and the other a 6233 so I should be OK with the SW330. They both work perfectly when connected. Does anyone know if it the newer firmware makes any difference to how it auto-connects? In fact does anyone have an F series with either firmware that auto-connects to more than one phone depending on which is in the car?
  9. I did a search for this topic and couldn't find anything. With the regard to auto-connect feature for bluetooth on the F series, the manual says it will auto connect in the "registration number order". I thought that it should work down the phone list until it finds a phone to connect to, but it doesn't actually do that. What is does is only try to auto-connect to the last used phone, and if that is not available it stops trying. The other phone can be connected by going into the phone menu and manually selecting it but this is far from ideal when driving. Am I missing something? I

    Which Ipod?

Thanks for that, will get a nano then.

    Which Ipod?

I have had my F700BT for a while and have been playing my MP3s from an SD card. I would quite like to see the album art (which my MP3s all have attached already), and have the option of playlists and searching by genre, album etc etc that comes with connecting an Ipod. I would probably only use the Ipod in the car, so my question is which is the cheapest Ipod that works successfully with the F-series. Would an Ipod Shuffle, for example, give the same features and display information when connected to the F-series as a more expensive Ipod with a screen?
  12. I think that is a good decision. You could end up spending the rest of your life doing minor changes to it, and still get requests for more. What you have produced is brilliant, and if I were you I would be sitting back with a beer and a big cigar feeling very pleased with myself!!! Thanks again. Now could you just alter .............................................................
  13. when i thought about it if ever i make a voice warning option when over the speedlimit it will behave strangely that you'll hear it over and over again overlapping each other, so let's your over the speedlimit what it'll do is call the spoken warning and announce it but after the first word is announce it will announce it again and after the first word on the 2nd announcement is not even done it will announce it again and will only stop when you stick to the speedlimit so you're saying that even if the warning beeps are turned off there's still a moobile beep, could yo uplease calrify
  14. i already removed that option on this mod The speed cam alerts settings seem to be a bit of a headache. IDT says it is a very complicated part of the firmware, and it is not easy to decide the best way I would like it to work even if the programming of it was easy. I know I want to be warned in the unlikely event of approaching a fixed speed camera at over the limit, but I don't want to be warned for the majority of the time when I pass one at or under it. That is OK as I can turn off voice warnings and set up the beep for over limit only. Ideally, I would prefer a voice warning with
  15. I also like the Favourites. I would be happy to loose either the day/night or the Screen off icon to have it. >IDT, I was trying to see if I could do this myself without bothering you yet again. I had a look at ui_pioneer\800_480\ui\navigatemap_800_480.ui and could see that the line for the favourites icon exist but is commented out. So I tried commenting out the day/night icon lines and activating the favourites line and change the location to be the same as the day/night. Sadly I get a FFUI ERR box pop up about unknown object identifier in script "sc_Navi_MenuAlphaRestore" command 5,

  17. i'm currently working on speedcamera alerts and settings, i think it would take a while before i get this done as it's sooo complicated, I understand. It would be the cherry on the icing on the cake, so if it can be done eventually then great, if not, no worries.
  18. IDT, regarding the speed camera warnings that you are looking into, I just wondered how easy would it be to add the following as an option? Instead of a voice warning as you approach every camera and/or a beep when you are over the speed limit as you approach, I think a really good option would be just a voice warning ONLY if you are over the limit on approach. Because we have so damn many cameras in the UK, a warning as you approach each one soon gets very irritating, so I tend to turn that off and just use the over limit beep. That alerts you OK but obviously doesn't give you a con
  19. > IDT An update on the speed camera warning beeps after a longer drive today past various speedcam locations. For static cameras I still get no beep at all. Tested in both "over-limit" and "on approach". The camera shows correctly on the map screen and visual/spoken warnings work if selected. For mobile cameras I get a very quiet , repeating beep as I drive past the camera location. I am happy to test any change in settings, check file locations etc etc that you can suggest to help you investigate this.
  20. OK, for anyone else that is in the same position, I found out what to do. Having already upgraded the WINCE files, it was not too difficult. I downloaded Tomola's files from this link viewtopic.php?f=34&t=26625 (thanks Tomola). I extracted these to an SD card which also has the Testmode files on. Then all I had to do was put that SD card in, boot into Testmode , and copy the complete contents of the My Flash Disk folder from the SD card to the My Flash Disk drive. It took about 20 mins to copy. Rebooted and everything works great.
  21. Just finished updating my 700BT EU version to firmware 3 then to IDT 3.0 v4.3 EU. Everything updated perfectly and I want to add my thanks to IDT for his superb work and input to the forum. I have sent you a paypal contribution as a thank you. I have only been using it for a couple of hours, so am still playing around with all of the settings and options to get it exactly as I want. The only thing I haven't been able to get to work so far is the speed cam warning beeps. No matter what setting I try (on approach or over limit) I get no beep. I have tried with or without spoken warnings and
  22. Could you be so kind and tell me how you did this or point me where you got the info. Any way. I hope this post helps you wth the maps update viewtopic.php?f=34&t=18460&hilit=igo8+igo+any+map Thanks. I think this link has the instructions I used, but it was a while back and I'm not 100% sure. I don't really feel confident enough about the updating process to offer advice to others, which is why I am asking for help to make sure I fully understand what to do before going further! viewtopic.php?f=32&t=25711&start=30
  23. I have a 700BT EU. I have upgraded the WINCE files and the media player to version 3 . I didn't bother upgrading the NAV part at the time, as all I really wanted was to eliminate the SD card MP3 bugs. Also, I have applied CMH928's mods to the NAV firmware, I didn't want to loose that extra functionality. I am now considering upgrading the Nav section and adding the latest maps. What exactly would I need to do to get from my half updated state to a full update including CMH928's mods? I have read quite a lot of posts on upgrading, but having an EU unit that is already half-updated,
  24. The Sony Stalk is not programmable it is just a wired remote stalk that works with any Sony/Pioneer headunit with the 3.5mm socket. It has 2 up/down commands, normal and "shifted" where you press the up/down ring as you turn it (not a great explanation you need to have seen one really to know what I mean, but doesn't really matter). These are the responses of the AVIC units to the wired remote control inputs AVIC responses to remote commands for pre-firmware 3 Sony Stalk Command........MP3 mode command... Radio mode command Normal up/down............Next/Prev Track.........Sca
