  1. I just got my 3.0 update from pioneer yesterday and installed it this morning. I was trying to copy all the files from "My Flash Disk" to my 8GB SD card but for some reason when I try to copy the APL 2 folder to the SD card is says that there isn't enough space on the card and that only "some" of the files will be copied. I am pretty sure that folder isn't bigger than about 7.5 GB. Does anyone know why I would be getting this message? Thanks for the help!
  2. The name of the file that you are looking for is called "746_32K_MN-000_24b.bmp" and it is inside the image.res file. The hard part about changing that picture is that it is hidden. In the "common" folder of the image.res file, it should be the very first picture however mine I believe is hidden and I can't get it to show up. When I select all the files in the common folder, it says that I have selected 349 files but in the folder properties it says that there are really 351 files in the folder. I am pretty sure that the file for the back ground is one of the hidden files. If you can get
  3. I think so far the only way to get TomTom maps onto the AVIC is to use LeetLauncher 3.0. There is a thread about it here: http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=18522

    GPS ZOOM

You might want to make sure that the "smart zoom" is turned off. At one point, everytime I would go to my map, the zoom would default far away and it would be really low so I could see the sky. Once I turned that off it hasn't done it since. Hopfully it will fix it for you. -Brian

  6. Thanks for the video. This will help out tons of people! I hope you don't mind but I posted this on YouTube so everyone doesn't need to download the file. Don't worry, I gave you credit If you want me to take it down, I will. I also added some words at the bottom but around 2:50 ish, after you had pasted the files to the SD card, I wasn't sure why you were showing the EZRIDER and the License files so I didn't say anything. Here is the link to the video for anyone who doesn't want to download the file. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eb-0pFVt-Uw -Brian
  7. I dont have the 3.0 update on my Avic yet but I'm guessing that if you want to restore your unit, you will need to restore it with the 3.0 updated files...but I'm not 100% sure. -Brian
  8. Ya, that's all you need to do. Just save all the original files from the flash disk to an SD card or somewhere safe. If you ever mess something up you can just put all the original files back onto your AVIC. -Brian
  9. What exaclty are you wanting to edit? If you want to change the icons of the main menu and the iPod controls and all that stuff you have to edit the image files inside the image.res file. If you want to change the location of the buttons on the map screen, I think you need to edit the DATA.zip. I've only ever messed around with the icons and that sort of stuff and its real easy. Just decompress the image.res file and you can see and edit almost all the images in the unit.
  10. This post will answer most of your questions: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=18977 (It's the FAQ thread)
  11. Here are the instructions that pioneer has on their website. This should work for you: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/ephox ... Update.pdf
  12. Sorry if this has been asked a bunch of times but after following all of those steps, can testmode be accessed like normal? I would like this update but i don;t want to lose lots of my mods...Thanks for the help! -Brian
  13. pm'd you to try and keep this thread from getting off topic -Brian
  14. That file is named 746_32K_MN-001_24b. Its in the "common" folder of the image.res file

  16. the navi warning Sweet! As soon as I get home from work, I'll definitely have to try this out! Thanks carver!
  17. Maybe I'm just dislexic but exactly which warning does this remove? I'm a little confused (like normal! haha!).
  18. Yeah, map files do not affect display tilt settings in any way. Smartzoom can be turned off in Navigation Settings/Visual. Ok, good to know. Thank you! I'll have to turn that off and see what happens when I go out to my car. Thanks again! -Brian
  19. is it possible that smart zoom is causing this? Maybe? How do I disable smart zoom? or is it something that should always be on?
  20. The new maps work great except I have one problem. When I'm on the map screen in the 3d mode, the map always goes by its self to a weird angle so that I'm as low to the ground as the car and I can see the horizon. Is there any reason why this would be happening? I tried resetting the unit but it didn't do anything. It is getting kind of annoying. Thanks for the help! -Brian
  21. Got it! Thanks! While i was loading all the new maps, I noticed a file called basemap. What is that? Sorry for all the questions.
  22. I downloaded all of the files and as I extracted them, 7zip told me that some of the files were broken (ie. Canada.fbl, California.fbl, Illinois.fbl, Massachusetts.fbl, Nevada.fbl, Ohio.fbl, Tennessee.fbl, Virginia.fbl, Canada.poi, South_Carolina.poi, Florida.poi, Missouri.poi, and even a few others. I guess it's not a huge deal because i dont live in any of those states but I was just wondering if that was normal? Again, thank you very much for all your help! -Brian
  23. Ok, I think I got it. Thanks! Just a few more questions (hopefully)...How do if I know if have iGo 8.0 or 8.3? Does it even matter? and do I need all 13 parts? Thanks for the help! -Brian
  24. Ok, I'm sorry if this was asked already...but I just checked my maps and I have the 2007.10 for everything. What do I need to do to install the 2008.4 maps? What files do I need? Thank you for your help and again, sorry if this has been asked a million times, I just got kinda confused while I was reading through this thread. -Brian
  25. That is very nice looking! I think I'm going to have to give this a try once you put up the download! Thanks! -Brian
