I've had this head unit installed for over a year, by a professional. I had the same exact problem about year ago when i had to have some work done at the dealership. The cure they came up with was to disconnect the battery and touch the positive and negative leads together for about 5 seconds. They said something about some aftermarket head units having internal batteries you have to reset/drain after disconnecting the battery. I have to say I can't disagree more with your post. I got my 920 installed yesterday and it works as advertised for me. The voice recognition has been flawless. I will admit it can be a bit slow but it's been totally functional for me. Playlists, artists, albums, genres, and the call features have been impressive. I only had an issue with the VR when my windows were down. Also look in the settings menu and make sure you have music set to mute when using VR so it doesn't interfere. As you can see from my previous post I did read the other threads. I guess I thought there was more info out there than what was already on the forum. someone could have easily said that there wasn't any more info as of now rather than being a jerk.

Yeah i read plenty of threads. Most of them contain you being a D-Bag. That and not a lot of info about the 930 besides the physical change to the buttons and the lack of VR.

Just got the 920 and after reading about the ability to upgrade the software I'm wondering what there will be to gain from updating to the 930 firmware? Not really seeing any new features... What am I missing? If anything it looks like it does less.. Yes I know I won't lose the VR by updating but please tell me a reason why I should update when it becomes available.

I was asking my installer today about the bypass for when i get my 920bt and he said he would do it but did not recommend it. He said that it interferes with the gyroscope and would eventually cause the system to fail. Has anyone heard of this? At first i thought it was rubbish but he said he would do it if i wanted and seemed to know what he was talking about. THoughts?

I already made my .PIM background but how do i add it to the pim2dim folder? I used disc utility to make a disc image of my map disc but everytime i try to drop the .PIM in the iso folder it says it cannot be modified. How can i add the background and burn it?? Do i need to just open the disc and copy all the files to my HD and then add the pim? Then create a iso and burn?

For D2.... Anyone got one?

So i have the cndv-80mt East.iso file downloaded and when i burned it to a dvd+dl it didnt work in my D2. I read that maybe b/c i set the right speed at 4x it didnt work, im trying it again on 2.4x. I am using the default burning program on my iMac, has anyone had success using this on the iMac? I am running OSX 10.5.6. If anyone has insight please enlighten me.

I see the harness from my car is connected to my d2. THen i see the xm i think spliced in to the power line of the d2. I dont see a harness i can plug in to or a harness from the xm. The only two harnesses i see are from my car to the d2. I guess if worst comes to worst i can splice the power cable to the power line either into the d2 power line or the power line from my car just before the car harness.... ??????

Ok I am ready to instal the CD-IB100ii Ipod interface to my D2 (blue wire disconnected) but i have a qestion. I have XM, so i know i have to run the bus from the xm instead of the d2... no problem... but i can't figure out where i need to connect the power supply from the CD-IB100ii. My thoughts are that maybe i dont need to connect it b/c it will get the power supply from the xm unit? I'm digging around everywhere but i really dont see where i am suppost to connect this power supply. Help....

Ive had my xm for a few weeks in my d2 and i love it. I surf just about all the stations and there is one artist i have never heard (shockingly) Michael Jackson I have the 90s on preset and visit the 80's pretty often... but ive yet to hear one MJ song... what station am i missing?

When playing a CD/mp3 CD if i select the random option to play a random song it never works. Do you really have to play the whole song and then it picks a random song?? That really sucks if so. On my old alpine you could keep going to the next song and each time it would be random. Also, in the cd settings there is a button for "comp" what is this? It has settings like... comp1, comp2... etc.. whats this?

no, i'm just going to take it in to the place that installed it to check it out. Id rather not mess with pulling out the unit and messing it up more.
