  1. Has anyone checked with a 3GS with 4.0 OS or was this purely a hardware issue? Thanks HR
  2. Just wanted to add another happy "customer" to the software bypass. Using a F7010BT, software 3.0, speed set at 256.0 Tested it up to 150km/h (for all of 10 seconds) and all functions were still available. Thanks to everyone for their input. HR
  3. ^^^Video podcasts look pretty awesome too!! HR
  4. Haha, I think my mom would be happy if I moved back there but my wife might kill me! HR Move to Toronto........ (sorry, I couldn't help it)
  5. I have the same issue, it gives me Toronto instead of Ottawa as the default. My home address in an Ottawa address and I have used the Nav 100's of times in the city (I get lost otherwise) and still, default Toronto. Any help would be greatly appreciated. HR
  6. Is it possible to have a button on the Nav screen that "Calls Home" directly. It would be nice to be able to just hit one button as opposed to having to click menu --> phone --> call home. Might just be me who needs this since I always seem to have to call the wife from the car. HR
  7. No highway signs for me either. Also live in Ottawa. HR
  8. You are right, for regular radio (eg. FM) if I just hit up/down once it goes up/down by 0.2, but if I press and hold (about a second) it goes to the next station with good reception. Unfortunately pressing and holding it on XM simply makes it go up two stations. HR
  9. Thanks but unfortunately my GTI has it like this: Left: volume up/down, star --> mute, phone --> does nothing Right: up/down --> function as above, OK --> changes source, screen --> toggles through the MFD One day I'll figure it out!! Hans
  10. I'm sure I'm just missing something but if the Pioneer unit has nothing to do with the preset up/down why is it a number of people are now able to have that function work when it didn't with previous firmware (1.X and 2.X). Thanks HR
  11. Hey, I think this actually depends as much on the steering wheel interface that you are using as it does on the Avic. I have a connects2 as my SW interface and unfortunately mine still skips by one station (on XM) or my 0.2 (on FM radio) or next station with decent reception (if I hold down the button for one second). This is all on an '09 GTI, F7010BT, with 3.0 firmware. Some of the people with the PAC-SWI seemed to have had better luck with now being able scroll through their presets. HR
  12. Retell, thanks for the new 3.0 myflashdisk software. I am still waiting to see if the Navi mute button and stop route hacks can be done before i put it on my unit but I'm sure one of you fine folks will figure this out soon enough. Thanks again, HR ps. I replaced the DATA.zip right on my laptop as opposed to doing it when doing the update on the unit itself, has anyone tried doing it this way?
  13. I got it working on my 7010BT (essentially the same as the 700BT). Although, I was not able to get the steering wheel controls to work the way they should (but that might be more on the connects2 steering wheel interface as opposed to the Avic. HR
  14. Just wanted to say thanks to carver for the testmode. For all the noobs like me you simply download it from the link given by the OP, extract the contents (using winrar), you will get a testmode file which you copy and paste onto a formatted sd card and you are all set. There is no miticap required like with the previous testmode. Just put the sd card in before you startup your unit and you are good to go. Thanks again Carver!! HR
  15. . I'm pretty sure I did do it right as I tried to place a call on BT on the caller info was in the bottom right like for the X-series and not across the bottom (in the middle of the screen) like the F-series. So it might be the steering wheel interface rather than anything to do with the avic? That kind of sucks. Thanks for the input. HR
