  1. I second that. Diaftia, I'm really impressed by your mods, but what do I have to do to install it on my F700 series w/o MSN?
  2. Hi all, I finally got around to my install, so I thought I should report back. Option B worked just fine, and I was able to use the car's stock volume knob as a bass level control for my sub. A total success! Thanks for the advice everyone!!
  3. Thanks 1louds, You've laid out the options clearly, and I was considering all of them, but I wasn't sure if Option ( was actually feasible without damaging the pre-amp or the Sony Xlpod amp. If Option ( was not feasible, then I would have tried Option (A)/(D). Thanks for letting me know that Option ( will work. That makes the job a whole lot easier.
  4. Hi Everyone, The AVICs use a stereo pre-amp output for the subwoofer, even though the sub is obviously just a single channel with no left or right. But I'd like to route that R & L pre-amp output through a stock remote volume knob on my car that uses a single gang potentiometer (which means the knob can only control a single channel, not both the right and left channels). Can I splice the right and left subwoofer pre-amp outputs together to make a mono signal that I can route through the stock remote volume knob? Will doing that fry something in the pre-amp or something in my Sony
  5. Hi All, I recently installed an F700BT in my girlfriend's car with firmware 2.0 pre-installed. I see that a lot of talented folks have done a number of firmware 2.0 hacks/mods, ranging from minor changes to whole themes. I'd like to hear folks thoughts about the best overall firmware hack/mod that's out there, especially in terms of speeding up the OS. So, please chime in!
