nice...i think that unit must be the AVIC-Linc judging by the description...which is going to remain the same...but just in the north american market we are calling the new F series...the X-series 910 and 710 and the Z is Z110

So does that mean that there is no storage for media at all. So this new z unit will basically be a x/f with a large screen. yup they have removed the hardrive completely...

i didnt get into the bare details of it...so im not sure...sorry...but i can find out the next time i see our regional rep.

Well they didnt let me touch the unit...bastards...but the interface and software is like the F900 or should i say the new X910 they have new easy to use menu system....where u can drag and drop icons to your quick pick menu...which is kinda like the most recently used sources...for example IPOD, USB, CD, NAVIGATE, HOME, ADDRESS book....and so forth...you can move the icons around on the main menu....kinda hard to explain...there should be a video out for it next week showing how this function works....and then they got the bluetooth builtin with echo cancelling....and i forget the rest...

Im sure the 3.0 software will support the older models or perhaps you should upgrade to the ALL NEW Z-series, the Z110. Its really cool and you will love the features and all the new patented technology it comes with, cant wait to get my hands on them...only downfall is that they got rid of the 30GB hardrive

They are still using the TELE atlas maps on the new X-series and the new Z110....dont know anything about them transitioning to NAVTEQ....and even if it is...its definitely not happening this year.

The new 3.0 software will be available in the new X-series on both the 710 and 910 but im not sure if its compatible with he older models...i would assume that it should but i am not making any promises...but i played around with the new x-series with the software and man is it so much FASTER than the F series...in terms of navigating through the menus cant wait till the release in july.

ive heard the changes are as follows F700 transitions into X-710...with 3.0 software and a black knob instead of the silver F900 transitions into X910...with 3.0 software and a black knob instead of the silver Z series is all redesigned with the same look as the X series with built in bluetooth but no 30GB hard drive. its going to be called the Z110.
