  1. I don't think it would solve the right channel issue. It was more of a connection problem. It would intermittently disconnect while playing, and I would have to remove the ipod and plug it back in. Finally just didn't work at all. The sound was fine even when it was going in and out on the connection. I did not take pictures. The only thing that is needed is a small star key (the screws look like they need a holed star key, but they don't), and a mall screwdriver. I took out the star key screws, and all the screws on the back and sides. The top skin has to be removed first, so that
  2. Well, since no one else did, I'll answer myself here. Took it out and cracked it open, and there is a simple 4 pin connector for the USB. After about 20 screws and a few nerves, my problem is fixed. Very simple.
  3. I unhooked the reverse wire to get it to quit going into reverse mode and that didn't help. I just hit menu as quickly as possible on startup, and ten putting the car in either drive or neutral did it. I even did a hard reset on the unit. Try unhooking the constant and the reverse wire for the camera, and unhookthe reverse wire for the headunit. Then check the backup camera settings.
  4. That happened to me at first, and I had to undo the reverse sensing wire, and change the camera type from battery to ground. Not sure how it got there, but that was the problem. I think I actually had to put the truck in neutral to get it to come on long enough to go to the menu.
  5. Have any of you guys cracked this thing open? How does the USB connect internally? I think however it connects has come loose during a vehicle to vehicle exchange. The cord going into the back of the unit definitely has some play in and out. Does this thing connect into a board, or is there a USB connection on the other side that can simply be plugged back in? I'm willing to crack it if I can reconnect without soldering. Ideas?? Thanks guys!
  6. I think the Scosche is the next step, and then the PAC. Wiring all seems to be good, since I am just using the RCA outs from the F900. It even does it when I use the bluetooth on the F900. Go figure.
  7. Hey guys. I just bought a 2008 Toyota Sequoia with the JBL Synthesis system. My installer used a TYTO Metra harness to integrate into the factory amp. For some reason, the front speakers seem to be cutting out, or losing the high end signal. Sounds like the volume shifts. I have seen that PAC Audio recommends a 4V input, and the F900 only provides 2V. Is this the culprit? Should I switch to PAC Audio? RCA in line boosters created REALLY bad alternator noise, so boosting the signal is out. Any ideas??
  8. Visual voicemail plays perfectly through my F900 with an iPhone 3G
  9. They did for mine. Searched for my name to make sure my unit was registered.
  10. Cool, I will try that. Is there no sky above the horizon like there was in the z1 z2?? That's what has been throwing me off. I have the terrain set on high detail Probably just stick to 2d.
  11. I posted this in the troubleshooting forum, but I wanted to be sure it was seen. 2D is perfect, but 3D looks pretty f'd up above what seems to be a horizon line. Any ideas??
  12. 2D is perfectly fine, but 3D looks f'd up above the horizon, or what should be the horizon. Any ideas?? I will post a photo as soon as I return to my office. It looks like an extremely low resolution version of what should be the map above the 'horizon.' -- edited to add the photo.
  13. I'm glad to do any of that, provided that someone using the files with an activation code wouldn't make mine go dead. Surely there is no way for that to happen. Either way, I'm spending the $130 the freaking second it hits the shelf, so once I install, I'll ask you guys what to do.
